Henry I of England marries Matilda of Scotland, consolidating his rule after the turmoil following his brother's death.

The Fourth Lateran Council, convened by Pope Innocent III, begins in Rome. on November 11, 1215. It was a significant event in the history of the Catholic Church, attended by over 400 bishops and 800 abbots. 

The Council of Constance elects Cardinal Oddone Colonna as Pope Martin V on November 11, 1417, effectively bringing to an end the nearly 40 years of the Western Schism and divided papacy with competing claims to the office.

Henry VI of England is restored to the throne briefly during the Wars of the Roses. after being deposed by Edward IV in 1461. This period,  lasted for a few months until Edward IV returned to England, defeated the remaining Lancastrian forces, and had Henry imprisoned again. Henry VI died in the Tower of London soon after.

The Mayflower Compact is signed by Pilgrims on board the Mayflower ship in Cape Cod Bay, establishing the rules for self-government in their yet to be established Colony. Then they proceeded to Land On Cape Cod at what is now Provincetown, Massachusetts. More

Washington is admitted to the United States Union becoming the 42nd State.

The WWI Armistice between Germany and the Allies on the Western Front also known as the Armistice of Compiègne is officially signed, after more than four years of fighting and the loss of millions of lives. The armistice was basically a cease fire agreement which is widely considered the end of World War I.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is dedicated in Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC. On November 11, 1921, The prior month, in the French town of Chalons-sur-Marne, U.S. Army Sgt. Edward F. Younger, a decorated World War I veteran, had selected the "Unknown Soldier" to be interred in the planned Tomb at Arlington National Cemetery, by laying a spray of white roses upon one of four caskets.

The 100th anniversary of the end of World War I is commemorated worldwide.
