Mount Semeru in East Java, Indonesia erupts on November 19, 2025, spewing ash plumes and triggering evacuations in nearby areas. The eruption produced dangerous avalanches of hot gas, ash forcing hundreds of residents to evacuate to temporary shelters. The eruption caused damage to homes and infrastructure but no casualties were reported
