A word,
absurd,
not today,
for using
the word
will get in
the way
of believing,
Lifes good,
continuing to stay,
where love's
inner meaning
protects you,
through the
arduous day.

Oh mighty Lord,
in heaven
on high,
would you help
me, please.
to learn
how to fly.
I will be good
and continue to try,
forever until I die.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:

What dark structures arise within the Pelican Nebula? On the whole, the nebula appears like a bird (a pelican) and is seen toward the constellation of a different bird: Cygnus, a Swan. But inside, the Pelican Nebula is a place lit up by new stars and befouled by dark dust. Smoke-sized dust grains start as simple carbon compounds formed in the cool atmospheres of young stars but are dispersed by stellar winds and explosions. Two impressive Herbig-Haro jets are seen emitted by the star HH 555 on the right, and these jets are helping to destroy the light year-long dust pillar that contains it. Other pillars and jets are also visible. The featured image was scientifically-colored to emphasize light emitted by small amounts of heavy elements in a nebula made predominantly of the light elements hydrogen and helium. The Pelican Nebula (IC 5067 and IC 5070) is about 2,000 light-years away and can be found with a small telescope to the northeast of the bright star Deneb. When the federal government set up boarding schools in the 19th century to assimilate Native American children into American culture, one of the objectives was to get them to turn away from the use of their native languages. In recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day in the U.S., The Conversation turned to Daryl Baldwin, a citizen of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma who is a leader in Native American language and cultural revitalization and a member of the National Council on the Humanities, for insight into a tribal community’s efforts working with a university to help bring languages back...Read more

When will we learn
not everyone is nice?
When will we learn,
to heed good advice?

Listen to others who,
know more than you.
Evaluate other sources
is smart to do.

Compile all data you
have heard and read.
You will have your answer,
Twill be in your head.

Work not today,
time to play a new song.
String out your words,
while gathering along
life's beautiful days,
before they're over and gone.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:

An analemma is that figure-8 curve you get when you mark the position of the Sun at the same time each day for one year. But the trick to imaging an analemma of the Moon is to wait bit longer. On average the Moon returns to the same position in the sky about 50 minutes and 29 seconds later each day. So photograph the Moon 50 minutes 29 seconds later on successive days. Over one lunation or lunar month it will trace out an analemma-like curve as the Moon's actual position wanders due to its tilted and elliptical orbit. Since the featured image was taken over two months, it actually shows a double lunar analemma. Crescent lunar phases too thin and faint to capture around the New moon are missing. The two months the persistent astrophotographer chose were during a good stretch of weather during July and August, and the location was Kayseri, Turkey

Today of all days,
I want to stay home,
for I no longer desire
to be left alone.

Benjamin Franklin (1706 - 1790) was an American polymath who was active as a writer, scientist, inventor, statesman, diplomat, printer, publisher, and political philosopher.[1] Among the leading intellectuals of his time, Franklin was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, a drafter and signer of the United States Declaration of Independence, and the first United States Postmaster General. Wikipedia

I was asked who I was by my wife of 65 years
as Alzheimer claims more of my beloved wife's memory.
There is no correlation to time. None.
I apologize for getting personal but
knowing I am not the only one who
is dealing with this terrible disease,
I want you to know, it is hard, but
you can still maintain a loving
relationship by being patient, caring
to your loved one.
Strength to you all.
