Bruce Barton (1886 - 1967) American author, advertising executive, and politician. Born in Robbins, Tennessee, he represented Manhattan in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1937 to 1941. 

Joseph Campbell (1904 - 1987) American Professor of Literature at Sarah Lawrence College. He worked in comparative mythology and comparative religion covering many aspects of the human experience. 

Pablo Picasso (1881 –1973) - Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer. He spent most of his adult life in France. Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he us known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage art and for the wide variety of styles he helped develop and explore. Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years and was extremely prolific throughout his life with over 20,000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and other items such as costumes and theater sets. Read more

Mother Teresa (1910 -1997)  Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She was born in Skopje, then part of the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. After living in Macedonia for eighteen years she moved to Ireland and then to India, where she lived for most of her life. Her full quote is : "If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are. If you are blamed you will not be discouraged. If they call you a saint you will not put yourself on a pedestal" More

This Quote has been published in different variations. This specific wording was published by Stephen R. Covey, on his book "The Speed of Trust". It highlights a common human bias to excuse our own shortcomings but penalize others for theirs. Covey is also the author  of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".

Honoré de Balzac (1799 - 1850) - Prolific French novelist, playwright and critic. He is considered one of the founders of realism in European literature. His multi-volume novel sequence, La Comédie humaine, "The Human Comedy" which presents a panorama of post-Napoleonic French life, is generally considered his most famous work.

St. Augustine of Hippo (354-430) An influential North African theologian and philosopher, known for works like Confessions and The City of God. He is the patron and father of the Catholic Augustinian order.
