Lovely flower,
a bloom from afar.
I know not
what you are.

Poets are but a dime a dozen
Found throughout our native land,
Writing words for those who listen
To the sounds of shifting sand.

Windblown hair covers the eyes
of a young girl,
balanced precariously, upon tubes
of metal, rolling without sound
on rubber doughnuts.

Sunlight's brightness extends a
shadowed twin that keeps pace
with the rider.

I see blue,
but I am not.
I am happy,
can't you see,
all the joy
coming over me?

I love your clothes.
I love your style.
When I see you
I always smile

There's no grasp, that I can see
of our present life's lack of clarity,
for I am lost in this uncertainty.
The loss I feel, I can't explain,
nor will I be able to maintain
as I tire of this daily pain.

There he stood,
out by the door.
Just looking for love,
and nothing more.
It was his charming wit,
I did adore,
he was looking for love
and nothing more.
The stories he told,
with adventures galore,
he was looking for love
and nothing more.

I am dwelling now,
on friends we had.
The joy and fun,
not being sad.
Many of the friends
of so long ago,
are gone now and so
the memories we have
of happy days, gone by
and the missing friends,
I want to cry.
Where are you now?
Where did you go?
I miss all of you.
The laughter at our jokes,
has gone away
and is only there
in our memory foray.

Relight your life.
Brighten your day.
Do what you must.
Keep shadows at bay.

I am saddened, on this day,
for an old friend, has gone away.
Gone away because some new disease,
that can't be treated, not with ease.
When your Doctors suggest that you
call in Hospice, so they can review
the needs of your body's care.
To recommend and make you aware
of the end of this life and need of repair.
I am saddened to relate that today
Our friends heart gave out, he passed away.
Long rest, my friend of many a year
It won't be long for I am near
and will see you soon, at life's end
for you were a great, caring friend.

Upon this sacred ground, he did trod
fighting for his only God.
This will keep me here today,
then he kneeled, as if to pray.
Great God in heaven, so far above
please send to her all of my love.

A silver tipped pen.
A page that is blank.
Words soon to come,
To set the stage.
A stage that holds
A lifetimes parade
Of pleasurable moments
And great times of pain.
