Thank you.
Long, grew the ferns
in the forest, fine,
amongst the tall giants,
dwarfing the land.
A perpetual shroud of moss
on the rocks and trees.
The trickle of water,
down partial grooves
of a grassy scene,
becoming torrents of water,
white as it boiled
across the rocky bed,
flowing to the river,
from creek to stream,
to an ocean.
As moving water, makes it's way,
via sound and bay, moving
slowly, on it's way to
refresh the Earth,
as Mother Nature reclaims the land.
Drought is shrinking one of the country’s largest reservoirs, revealing a hidden Eden. Read more
First comes the light
of a glowing dawn.
Look then to the grass,
which is very brown.
Green the color seen
in the Spring
is gone away, after a
Summer swing.
Look for objects with
a lingering dew.
I know you will find them,
you always do..
When sunbeams hit the
window pane,
the heat is intense
as if a flame.
Linger not long
in this climate shame.

“There is one book that I would rather have produced than all my novels,” Willa Cather rued in her most candid interview about creativity. That book was Rocky Mountain Flowers: An Illustrated Guide For Plant-Lovers and Plant-Users (public library| public domain by the pioneering plant ecologist and botanical artist Edith Clements (1874 –1971). There was a rumbling;
a loud exhaust noise,
produced by a man
with too many man toys.
The chill and excitement,
you heard outside on the street,
sends a chill up my spine.
The sound of it's silence
by the electric cars
is not there, yet there they are,
swooping down like an electric
golf cart is what you get,
when we leave the gas vehicles
and go to these new times.
No gas tax revenues
to pay for repairing the streets,
so tax revenue drops,
with no offset revenue here.
The wind, on this warm summer day,
chases green leaves, much too soon.
Excessive heat, burns plants and crops,
ruining fruit and plants alike.
Wind builds the heat, dries the grass,
creating another season; a furnace blast.
A swath of grass,
one muddy trail,
weaves through the trees,
which stand and prevail

The water was tepid
with a brackish taste,
as though it contained,
undesirable chemical waste.
The lights flicker,
there is no wind.
No tree limbs,
falling on power lines
and, yet the lights
do a funny dance.
