The Sunlight has slipped away,
as the shadows seize the day.
The air warmed by the Sun
is here and will not succumb,
as the coolness of the night,
creeps in to enclose us tight,
while the day has become the night
and surrenders again, without a fight.

When the ashes, from the flame
are cold, damp and wet,
the Earth will recover and yet,
we learn not our lesson and tire
of the Annual events of forest fires.
The amount of money spent all around
to put out the flame could be spent,
in forms of prevention a season before,
by treating the cause, brush on the floor
of the beautiful forest, burnt to the ground.
What a loss of a resource of timber
and lives of our friends.
Isn't it time to return to control
of a resource and reduce
Global Warming for all?

A glimpse with rays radiating out on the water. Good capture.

"Most of the plastic we recycle will not be turned into new plastic things. It is buried..... And what's more, the makers of plastic — the nation's largest oil and gas companies — have known this all along, even as they spent millions of dollars telling the American public the opposite. Analysts now expect new plastic production to triple by 2050" Click to read the NPR article by Laura Sullivan

FALLS CITY, ORE. — A few hundred feet past this Oregon timber town, a curtain of Douglas fir trees opens to an expanse of skinny stumps.
The hillside has been clear-cut, with thousands of trees leveled at once. Around the bend is another clear-cut nearly twice its size, then another, patches of desert brown carved into the forest for miles.

Logging is booming around Falls City, a town of about 1,000 residents in the Oregon Coast Range. More trees are cut in the county today than decades ago when a sawmill hummed on Main Street and timber workers and their families filled the now-closed cafes, grocery stores and shops selling home appliances, sporting goods and feed for livestock..........Read more
