The Fatimid Caliphate is officially founded by Imam Al-Mahdi Billah after the final defeat of the Aghlabid army on March 18, 909, at the Battle of al-Aribus, in modern-day Tunisia/Algeria in North Africa (Ifriqiya).The capita was eventually moved to Egypt in 969.
