King Edward II of England marries Isabella of France at Boulogne-sur-Mer on January 25, 1308 in an arranged union meant to ease Anglo-French tensions. The marriage however was disastrous, leading to Isabella's eventual rebellion with Roger Mortimer and the deposition of Edward II. deposition.
