Would I?
I would.
When I think of you
and all the things
we used to do.

This is the time of year
when I would like a fire near.
A fire that is burning bright
To defend against the chill of night.

The crying of a Seagull;
The musty smell of the Sea
Creates a picture, in my mind
Of Beauty, sea spray and tranquility.

I rake the leaves
from the grass,
while silently, they fall
behind me.

Sometimes I act like a rudderless boat,
moving so slowly but still afloat.

Are you a Snail?
Why, yes I am.
Can you deliver mail?
I suppose I can.
"Why do you ask?"
Sayeth he,
"For I am slow,
Unlike thee."
I am not a Frog
Who awaits your kiss,
I am just a Snail
That will deliver the mail.

What a tenacious flower you are.
Haven't planted any new for 3 years.
Volunteers do appear.
Some early in the Spring
Some just three days ago.
You are always welcome in the garden.

"What comes next?", she said to me.
"For I must leave this place of We
to go to a home, that I know will be,
a place where they will take care of me."

She knows me but not my name,
though in her mind, still does remain
the sweet person that she used to be.
Please dear God, let her remain with me.

The joy, the fear, my heart is singing
for in awhile my doorbell will be ringing.
When the young child, I will soon meet
talks to me with words of "Trick or Treat?"

When days were young
and nights were old,
I remember many of
the tales that were told
about the fears that lived within
and the stories of debauchery and sin.
Tales of the follies of man
faced with death, as it began.
A fear that runs up one's spine,
full of worry about a love of thine,
who lost her way.
A long trip it certainly was
and happened then, just because
she was in the wrong place.
So she was and trouble found her.
It was a bleak day; no Sun, just rain
as she related, I felt the pain,
for her shadow would never again
find her calling, in this place.
The disappointment showing on her face.
Alas my friend, away go thee,
I hope once more that I will see
your life's fulfilled destiny.

My heart breaks, as tears
moisten the corner of my eyes.
I hold it together when I am
in her presence but sometimes
I just can't do it, so I
leave the room.
I must stay strong, for her sake;
besides she doesn't shed tears,
having little tolerance for those who do.
She told me, "I love you" the other day.
Not typical. If I tell her, "I love you"
she will respond with, "love you too."
