The drum beats loudly in my mind
As my blood pressure, begins to climb.
Take your Meds the Drs. say
If you want to see another day.
All the pills I take, every one,
Will not keep this life, as I am done.
I believe in a life after death
Will start with my last breath.

Love me on the morrow.
Love me on this day.
Love me forever,
Love me in your way,
Until we're not here
And have gone away.

Deep amongst this World of ours,
Is a beautiful sight, one of flowers.
The beauty that flowers can bring
Makes this aged heart want to sing.
Cut flowers are nice; of course they are
But not as nice as those in the yard.

Thank you dear friend,
For believing in me.
It's a blessing from God,
That I now see.
You helped me before,
More than you know,
So now this venture,
And on with the show.

Twilight deepens, as the Sun recedes,
Casting shadows, from trees and weeds.
Shadow that deepen, into black,
As colors fade away, too soon
And can't be seen
in the descending gloom.

Dear God, in Heaven,
before I meet my demise
is it asking too much
to see another sunrise?

I hear sounds of dogs at bay,
as we lie on the meadow floor.
A forbidden adventure is in play
as I keep asking for more.
More of the love, that we had.
It was all very good.
There was nothing bad.
So, why have we parted this way?
Was it something I said,
that turned you away?
Please tell me; oh tell me so,
for my Soul is now hollow
with no place to go.

Talks of dragons and mystical things;
Stories about The Lord of the Rings.
Tales of Rocket ships to the stars;
Hearing about excursions to Venus and Mars.
All stories, with imaginations gone wild,
Came from the mind of a young child.

Who am I, to you?
Who are you, to me?
I'm sure there's an answer,
Somewhere inside of thee.

The flashing, moonlit arrows
reflect across the calm waters,
in the early morning hours
of a false dawn

Words in my head,
words that I hear.
Write them down quickly
or they disappear.
Words with true meaning,
words that are false,
but they are leaning
to being something else.
Words that feed me.
Words that I see.
Thank God for
delivering them to me.
Words by themselves
have a lot to say.
For me it's simple
they brighten my day
I will keep writing,
as long as I can,
for after all
I'm a word driven man.

The sound of wind, in the trees,
Rushes through the window screens.
The front moves in with much noise,
It even pulls the window blinds.
No rain is seen or heard,
As the temperature has dropped lower.
A coolness in the Summer air,
Should bring some relief tonight,
So we can sleep the sleep
That dreamers do. Will you?
