An old voice, with an appropriate
message this morning.

It was in early Spring,
the frost was still here.
It was sunny but cold.
Colder than normal this year.

Too early to plant,
for at night it would freeze.
Put on your warmest coat
and many sweaters, please.

Light was the breeze,
close to the ground,
but frost on the grass,
was what I found.

The wind blew cold,
across the lake.
Lightly dressed, was I
how much cold could I take?

Wind blows hard,
taking the rain sideways.
Stinging my ears and face.
I will ask for warmer days.

Facing the wind, bravely,
a strong, little flower,
with stem vibrating,
hour after hour.

Though the wind blew,
gusting with power,
the stem became stronger,
hour after hour.

Wind rustled,
through cattails,
near the pond,
rippling the water.

A peaceful sound,
with aroma unique.
Close your eyes,
enjoy a nap.
You will fall
into a deep sleep.

Long lay, the grassy plain,
dry in Summer, awaiting rain.
What happens when clouds will burst
as parched land, quenches thirst.

I can't wait
until the Lilacs bloom,
as the scent of the flower
permeates the sunroom.

The color of purple
flowers in bloom,
will make the season,
and have less gloom.

"It's that time of year again! Acorns have been popping up all over the place. This is a sign of a "mast year," which happens when trees produce an unusually high amount of nuts and fruits. Mast years are important because they provide food for animals and birds, and also help with seed dispersal". But why and how do trees do it? More at The Conversation ➜

Out the window,
through the pane,
seeing the storms,
seeing the rain.

Funny in words,
some are so trite,
people out walking.
Somethings not right.

Rain splattered windows,
windblown rain.
Stay dry this day,
do I need to explain?
