Broken.
A pile of glass
when I threw a football
inside the room,
hitting the fixture,
a very loud boom!
"Would you explain this to me,
please tell me more.
Why is there broken glass
all over your bedroom floor?"

During the day gone by,
Knowing what you have endured.
We worked hard, with pride,
a prayer to the Lord, our God,
yet all the time and effort
we have made, missed the mark.
There is no cure; it must be,
All the light I cannot see.

I desire to do water colors,
I want to paint.
I bought materials,
brushes, pencils and pens,
with watercolor kits, as I
like to paint, Plein Air,
on in the field.
I have brief pencil sketches,
to keep the site in mine,
but find I no longer have the time.
I know it's a thin excuse,
but it is what it is.
Some day it will happen,
of this I am sure.

Am I insane,
when I want
to believe,
lives will change,
when someone leaves?

Where is the new life
I promised to thee?
In this World, of today,
which has abandoned
life in a terrible way.

My heart is in anguish,
when I think of you.
The pain which I feel
emits from your soul.
Dementia the destroyer
of families today.
A hateful disease,
is all I will say.

My wife, as I've said before,
has Dementia, memory loss too,
when she arose this morning,
looked at me, saying, "Who are you?"

Can we talk about love?
Not the amoral one,
but loving all others,
every day of our life.
Love doesn't have to be sexual,
perhaps it is, early in life,
when we wish to beget children.
Feelings for another,
is OK with me,
if it makes you feel whole,
for the World can be hard
when life takes its toll.
Love one another
as if tomorrow won't be
for if it happens to you,
it may happen to me.

When rocks roll down
the hills of life.
When daily events,
cause more strife,
when you have,
so many a battle.
It will do you well
to avoid the prattle,
there comes a time,
we may recall,
it is very hard,
to win them all.

I write words of gibberish,
for it helps clear my mind.
I apologize to you
if my words are unkind.
I do not like to write,
for the help which I need,
but do for the readers,
who may enjoy this word feed.

Sometimes I loathe myself,
for not doing all which I can.

Of all the things I've done in life,
'twas when I met my future wife.
She was walking with her friends,
as my friend and I were driving by.
We used a smart sexy line,
Get in ladies will give you a ride.
Their response was said in unison,
"Get lost Creeps." Later, we met,
at a dance. I believe it was then
she decided she would give me
another chance, to recover my poor
approach. Funny how life works.
I sit here after 66 years of marriage,
praying she will recover from a disease,
which isn't possible. Dementia, has
robbed her of all her early memories.
She remembers nothing of how we met.
Asks me if I knew her parents.
Words which melt my soul, as I see
her continue to fail and be at a
point, where there is nothing which
helps her do the simple things, in
her life. No matter what, you are the
whole of my life.
