able to sleep,
for you're who I adore.
I want our friendship to keep.

At what point,
should you give in,
to a love pursuit,
you can't win?

It begs the question,
to ask, once more.
Should I stay,
or go out the back door?

A long goodbye,
a sweet hello,
reminds me of
the day we met.

It was early Spring,
or perhaps late fall,
when we danced
and then the ball,

was a great place
to be with you,
for you made me,
fall in love with you.

It's been many years,
of heavenly bliss,
now I am yearning,
for your sweet kiss.

That will only happen,
if we go out the door,
and search for memories,
about those days of yore.

Careless the heart,
quick to share love,
to an unplanned response's
message from above.

I can still keep
looking for love
and companionship,
with guidance from above.

We all need love.
From the day we were born,
when love finds you,
come blow your horn.

I remember,
the sweetness,
of your lips.
Our first kiss.

You were everything
to me, my courage,
my strength and
my personal sage.

I think of you often,
as hours go by.
I want to love you,
I'll give it a try.

If you don't love me,
I will understand,
for you can do,
what you want to this old man.

My mind spins,
increasing with each thought.
What is happening to me?
Can I respond to what I sought?

Confusion, in my mind, reigns supreme.
I'm not trying to keep score,
I just realize I'm looking.
Looking for much more.

I walk the beach,
in early morn.
The smells and sounds,
as I'm reborn.

A breeze carrying,
Ocean spray,
gull's forlorn cries,
fade away.

I've returned to where,
I've been before.
Alone I am,
walking the shore.

What will happen,
when our love ends?
Will we move, adapt
or just pretend?

If I knew what,
lies before me,
I would jump at
a solution for thee.

There is something, about a day,
in the early morning Dawn,
when the cold air pulled at your nose,
while stifling a yawn.

I like not the cold air,
as I have aged, in time.
I'd like it somewhere warm,
and love it, if sublime.

The wayward heart,
searching for love,
finding a friend.
