Into the Night

Into the night of infamy,
depriving the citizens of liberty,
under the guise of "I know best",
he's trampled on the Constitution
and the laws of human kindness.
Not handling the Virus, I must confess,
the loss of life of 180,000, today
due to his negligence, won't go away.
I know it hurts and you do too,
for in November, please vote Blue.

We weren't there and we didn't know
About the many actions they took,
Unless we read the words, from a book.
Yet here we are in this time present,
When the loss of life, is like a torrent,

While this Administration, hides under a rug.
Don't suppress these thoughts in mind,
For the cruelty by Trump to mankind.

Burn said he supported women's suffrage as a "moral right", but had voted against it before because he believed his constituents opposed it. In the final minutes before the vote, he received a note from his mother, urging him to vote yes.
