Where ever I go,
what ever I see,
it will be you
in the mirror,
looking back at me.

You looked at me,
in a strange way.
Your eyes flashing brown,
as if to say,
"I'll see you later
at the end of the day."

I've traveled the World,
across the blue sea,
courtesy of Uncle Sam,
and all for free.
No amount of money,
will keep me away
from the memories
of the U.S Navy.

Time to shake loose
all these words in my head.
Without trepidation,
but with courage instead.
Words that will tumble,
as if from a jar,
landing on paper
by aching wrist.
Don't stop now;
my mind does insist.
Write all you can.
Do it right now,
stopping not to think,
just do it.
You do know how
surprisingly the "spring
has run dry."
I'll ask you later.
Please tell me why.

Brain dead is what I be;
my mind is full of uncertainty.
Now all words, I try to speak
are gone away. I try to tweak
the words that pop into my head,
but alas I do believe I'm Brain dead.

It was someone else.
It wasn't me,
for I never have,
nor ever will,
accept any results
as my responsibility.

The Owl sat motionless and gazed
from the limb of a dead tree.
Lonely, hungry and now forlorn,
nothing came easy, since he was born,
or I should say hatched
for he finally had met his match.
She swooped in; she knows this place
and next to him, got in his face.
I am the ruler of this broad hood,
make sure that is now understood.
He nodded, in an acceptable way
and thought not to leave but to stay.
There soon would be Owlets to feed;
he was a hunter filling the need.

There he was.
Hair down to his knees.
Not trying too hard,
for there's no one to please.
This poor soul,
needs grooming to ease,
the burden of grime,
so he can soon breathe.
A wonderful mutt,
when you cut off his hair,
realizing all the beauty,
found under there.
A beautiful dog comes into view.
A beautiful, male Shi Tzu.

At what point
in this crazy life,
does one say,
"Enough?"
Enough with the lies,
enough with the cheats.
"Get off my lawn"
You bunch of "dead beats."

Serpent like, it took to the sky,
spreading it's wings, it began to fly.
Swoops and dips, with a loop or two,
It would fly by and spray the dew.
The air from it's massive wings,
Made my heart happy; funny things,
From legends of the past, long ago,
When it flew, it put on a show.
Alas all the people that we know,
Saw it disappear, as away it flew.
Will it return? That's hard to say,
For if children wish hard
Who is to say.

I look at you and I see,
this resemblance
that looks like me.
Why is that I say to you,
when I'm with the monkeys
at the Woodlawn Park Zoo?

Rain once more,
a Spring so cold,
sunshine missing
this is getting old.
