The candle flickers. My thoughts
do too, for I am remembering
the best part of you and our
short time together, just us two.
Where did the time go?
What kept us apart?
I can't recall the specifics of
passion, now gone,
nor of the time when we
fought. Those times were
blessed with me. Perhaps
the reason, we parted ways
was because of my thoughtless
forays of life, not meant for
me. I took the cowardly
way out by going to Sea
as I filled my service obligation
in the United States Navy.

The Witch rode in, on a
broom so thin,
showing the blue-green color
of her wrinkled up skin.
A pointed hat sat on her head,
was black as night.
Opening her mouth, she said
"Come here my lovely child,
come now to me
and I'll make you famous
in this Worlds Fable History.

At times I am lame.
No; not in that way.
Just a naive person
as I was, one lonely day.
She called to me
from a table, quite near,
wanting to know
if I'd like a beer.
She said, "Call me Ann,
I am your server today."
I nodded my head,
she left, walking away
and brought me a beer
in a long Pilsner glass.
It was then I knew
I now must confess,
I had been here before,
for they all knew my name
as I came through the door.
Why can't I remember?
Or not know at all,
when I entered the chamber
just off the hall.

Dizzy I am,
from drinking the wine,
poured from the bottle,
with fruit from the vine.
The fruit is crushed now,
in to a juice so fine.
Rich is the color,
the smell is divine
from the Godly nectar,
in this glass, mine.

There is so much futility;
You don't have the ability
Nor the tool for tranquility
And all become a liability,
Charging to an old utility,
Bringing you back to reality,
Resulting in the end. Finality

I fear not of death on this day,
for it would mean I've gone away.
I would no longer miss my friends
nor hear the words and Amen.

Now for my final act
In this political life dear,
I'll go to the ballot box
And I will disappear

You left me for another,
it was plain to see.
Did it have to be my brother,
for it really did, hurt me.

From there to here.
From here to there,
The fate of this nation,
Depends now on prayer.
I pray to my God above,
For understanding and for love.
To forgive my friends who
Voted Red and didn't vote Blue.
We all err, it's what we do.
To correct an error, it's up to you.
