Forsake all your sorrow
and be on your way.
Go to the place, nice,
smell all the aromas,
from sugar and spice.
Just remember to avoid
eating white rice.
No white bread or potatoes,
for you to fry.
Reduce the bad carbs you eat,
give it a try.
Eat beans, lentils, broccoli too
and your food may be boring
but it all is good for you.

I love the sound of a fire outdoors.
It's the smell of the smoke, I abhor.
All the wood smoke clings to your clothes.
The odor you bring is not from a Rose.

I am going to go back
and crawl in my bed,
for my head is pounding,
like the drum of the dead.
My eyes are so weary,
a color of light red.
I shouldn't have been drinking
and then someone said,
"Last round"

I believe I have been here before,
but who in the World is Lenore?
Did I read a book of lore?
It was Poe's Raven saying "Nevermore."

Do you recall the words,
"Snap, crackle and Pop?"
The bowl of Rice Crispies,
laying in milk to sop.

And I can't pick up my pen.

The path down the hillside,
through the slippery shale,
was taken carefully then,
but with little avail,
for my feet began sliding
down the rockiest trail.
Brace your feet in the stone,
don't let them sail,
as it can be dangerous
to avail a trail with shale.

The same old story,
retelling an old joke,
about a man on a tractor,
who was smoking a toke.
What does this mean,

for I write what I see.
I saw the tractor
and saw the bloke,
though his head was enveloped
by a large cloud of smoke.

A letter of love
I received an e-mail,
saying if I don't pay up
I will be going to jail.
I don't like it you see
when they say, now marry me.

Must I go to the ground
and get down on my knees?
For I need help, from someone kind,
as I search for relief
from this life, which I live,
with my old, old brain
so much like a sieve.

Hey there good looking,
would you like to dance?
Those questions are gone;
won't be given a chance.
Dancing is not allowed
during the modern romance.
