You were just here.
Not very long.
Your life was cut short,
finished not your song.

When the music stops
but the dance goes on,
the life we know is over
and our friends are gone.

When the music stops,
in this World so grim,
it will be the time
to think of him.

I do not like this pen of mine
for the written word is much too fine.

Eating an ice cream cone,
when a drip went down my chin,
to hit my shirt; a spot alone.
I muttered, "Oh no, not again."
Don't worry. Stop making noise,
for all old folks are wearing,
their food stained clothes.

A sudden glimpse.
A perked up nose,
flashing of eyes,
do you suppose,
there is a smile?
Lips like a Rose,
a lovely chin
and now I know,
the heart within,
is beating slow.
A laugh as well,
a tinkling sound
of a silver bell
and so profound.
Hair of color gold,
invites you to
be very bold.
Don't go; Please stay.
She gets up
and walks away..

Where is the music?
Where is the show?
Where are the places,
We once did go?
Where are the sports,
We so adore?
They aren't here;
Not anymore.
Where are the friends,
We all knew?
What can we do
To start anew?

Ere years before,
in darkest time,
when day was dark
and not sublime.
A time of fear
and abject hate.
A time of now.
Can you relate?

Come here to me.
Come here now.
Tell me your tale
and make your vow,
to treat others seen today
the same as your family.

I feel as if there is something
wrong with me.
I'll soon find this out
with a syscoscophy.

Stay the course,
all you marching masses,
for cultural change,
moves like Molasses.
Peaceful protests,
for the change we need,
continue marching,
until you succeed.
No matter what
is said in all the chatter,
for all the World
Black Lives Matter.

A lonely tree,
stands strong, on the hill.
A picture of strength,
a testing of will.
One solitary figure
is what you see,
for your single voice,
speaks out to me.
Make the changes
we are needing now.
Make your pledge
and then avow.
For life is important
and we must endure
until a change
becomes the cure
of injustice,
in the World today,
changes the treatment
of others on this day.

All of your pain, I cannot see.
There is nothing to be
Seen in your eyes reflection,
When you look back at me.

Why do you still shout at me?
You know this is not what I am.
I can't control what you see.,
For I can only most hopefully,
Do what I remember I can.
