I wanted to caress
her aching heart,
with many a hug,
would be my part,
but separation of 6 feet,
makes it difficult to do,
so a virtual hug
comes from my heart to you.

What was it like, when there were
no cars?
When the Gods we worshipped, were
Venus, Jupiter and Mars.
Would you wonder, what a strange
World was out there,
Or just be indifferent and continue being
so unaware?
All of the years, which have passed through
those ancient eyes,
were there questions, unanswered and
left to surmise?
Don't you wonder now, how we
became so unwise?

If what I write
or what I say
will make a difference,
when on your way,
I will, then rejoice
on this beautiful day.
I made a difference
and there it will stay.

I heard the death rattle
of leaves in the Fall,
as the sharpness of Frost
was making a house call.
The leaves turning a yellow
and as I do not recall,
to the reddest of reds,
not just one, but all.

"Where is my purse?"
Brings fear to me,
For she still carries
Credit cards and identity.
She may remember not,
I'm supposed to be,
Her best, personal security.
I will do better
Just wait and see.

Go South on the morrow,
is what they all say.
Forsake all your sorrow
and be on your way.
Go to the place, nice,
smell all the aromas,
from sugar and spice.
Just remember to avoid
eating white rice.
No white bread or potatoes,
for you to fry.
Reduce the bad carbs you eat,
give it a try.
Eat beans, lentils, broccoli too
and your food may be boring
but it all is good for you.

A timeless path,
travelled by man,
starts at the time
our birth began.

We begin crawling,
walking before we ran,
as life goes by,
like the shifting sand.

What happens now,
when we no longer can,
provide value to all
and a burden again.

When you support tyranny
to subvert Democracy
your being complicit,
in your own hypocrisy.

There is a strange calmness, to me.
I grow depressed, thinking of thee,
Except at night, when we are alone,
Realizing your with me and at home.

The roar of the wind
through the limbs of the trees,
sounds like a Lion
with a real bad wheeze.
The wind blowing in bursts,
rattles our window panes.
Where do you go now?
What do you do,
when the sound of the wind
reminds me of you?

Some times we're like animals,
but lest I repeat,
we can behave like
dogs coming into heat.
There are many emotions
down by our feet,
of jealousy and anger,
which are not a treat.
Some numb the senses,
like love so complete,
then a deep sadness,
causes one to retreat;
run from this life,
once more a defeat.
