Missing you, as what I see,
You are still waiting here.
It makes me love you more,
for you still call me dear.

An island wedged
among the streams
of rushing water,
sounds of my dream.

How many balls can I juggle?
Bats in the belfry.
Two cards short of a full deck.
A few bricks short of a full load.

Life was good,
life was fine,
then the crap
hit the fan.

How far do I go
avoiding time with
my wife when she
says she wants to
be with me?

Am I destroying her
confidence, mental
condition or not.
What a thought to
wrestle with.

Today seems to be one of sadness.
The thought of losing someone,
close, after all these years,
is very painful, today.
Most days, I deal with this
by avoiding it.
Pre-occupy my thoughts with
other activities, which recquire
concentration.
It is Tax time.

A careless use
of a spoken word,
makes little sense,
when it is absurd.

Hurtful words, are heard,
more often they're inane.
My question seems to be.
Am I becoming insane?

Words once held,
with pride and joy,
were used too often,
starting to annoy.

Words begin to spin and twirl,
upside down, inside out.
Words are different,
whispers become a shout.

Blue is grey, red is too,
rainbow color, a hue,
aren't as colorful,
for all to view.

Shaky,
these words, mine,
involuntary shaking,
not an MS sign.

Thank God for that,
don't wish to burden, She,
with more worry,
which she has for me.

An antelope, a wildebeest,
were living in the zoo.
They met one day,
with a new member, Gnu.

Discussion was frank,
about what they might do,
if they could find a way out
of their cages in the zoo.

Do you suppose, if we hide,
during the early morning sun,
the keepers would think we
had escaped and were on the run?

Like many a plan, made before,
this one had too many a flaw
and when the sun arose, they
were nabbed by the long arm of the law.

Look towards the morrow,
don't look at the past.
Let the memories, you have,
be what you saw last.

Spring forth your youth,
it is here for you now.
Ask many questions,
your mother will know how.

Answering the riddles of life,
can be easy or hard.
Believe in your talent,
looking, always forward.

If I could run,
without pain,
would I run again,
would I train?

Running, a way of life,
I ran after work.
Running miles, out the door,
wouldn't shirk.

There was a time, I believed,
I could run forever.
Hit the right pace,
run for hours, a sweet endeavor.

Started running marathons,
at the age of 55.
Ran 4 the first year,
really felt alive.

I no longer run,
my muscle tone is weak,
but if I can train again,
who knows what I can reap.

Live for the moment.
Life is too short,
meaningful relationships
are most important,
for a healthy mind.

No assurances are given,
isn't it best to try,
then to sit and wonder,
about a new friendship.

Mirroring the past,
when times were good,
news great to see,
nothing was misunderstood.
Unlike today.
