A small fire,
with embers bright,
a perfect place to
contemplate tonight.

Do others see
all our frailties,
when we are alone,
and fearful?

A vertical line,
a hazardous plane.
I'm on the edge,
of going insane.

Unsure of what
is happening to me.
Do you know of
what I can see?

Asking the same question,
over and over again,
makes me question,
will there be pain?

I don't like pain pills,
but have been asked,
would you take them,
if the pain has been tasked?

Yes, I would,
if need be,
but I want my mind
to be clear and free.

Strangers we are,
when we are born.
Strangers still,
when our lives are worn.

It can be surprising,
when we see the
weakness in ourselves.
No rush to judgement,
it's just the way it is.

In the early days of my writing,
I chose to write verse,
or in my case, rhyming poetry.
I didn't know, for it was terse.

When I think of all the tomorrows,
which I will never see,
I'll recall all of the memories,
of places we used to be.

The most important changes
which I can think to say,
don't leave without a goodbye,
it's not good for you or me.

When we write of things,
which memory supplies,
may we assume we know,
before the memories dies?

One light to the North,
on the brightest day.
I thought it was blue,
now I cannot say.

When love moves away,
from where we live,
should we acknowledge,
should we forgive?

An old sentiment,
is still here today,
as I think of you,
when you went away.

You were my light,
my shining star,
as I miss you so,
from now afar.

Whispered breath, rustles the air,
while the warmth of her body,
makes me aware,
of the love I have lost,
who is no more.

No more to be with me,
when I need her advice,
no more to talk with,
telling her she's nice.

Oh what a loss,
after, all of these years,
to end in a sadness
and the shedding of tears.

I have been struggling with
establishing my boundaries,
at the risk of offending others.

I am a private person,
unlike the one, you may see.
I don't care to be fussed over.
I need my own space, if I am
to deal with all I face.

I have friends, who recognize this.
Thank you. Unfortunately, there
are others, who with good intentions,
but not what I need.
