Along came a Spyder,
not an insect but a car.
French Blue in color,
it went fast and far.

A 1971, Fiat 124 Spyder,
two-seater, bench in back.
Two latches to drop the top,
with Arbarth Duals exhaust.

Prone to breakdown because
of a high R.P.M. during operation.
A joy to drive. Perfect for
my second childhood.

Light beamed, from out the dark,
through shaded windows, a part
of the old houses charm,
to soothe his broken heart.

She lived across the road
in a rural way of life.
He fell in love, pursuing her,
wanting her to be his wife.

A small-town girl she was,
full of vigor, free of strife,
They had wed, becoming a couple
and man and wife.

They lived in simple times,
most years of their life.
Dementia came
and their world became trife.

I love you,
more than when we first met.
Your courage and bravery,
as you fight in silence,
unable to communicate
or complain.
I am very proud of you
as you fight this losing battle.
I love you, Ellie.

Five, five, five, five,
where is your heart?
Listen, listen, listen, listen,
to me from the start.

Be with me tonight,
relive the memories, old,
when we were young.
No goodbyes, nothing bold.

Forever or never,
will it ever be?
Forget it, regret it,
you never will see.

Love it or leave it,
isn't quite there.
Try it or buy it,
Buyer beware.

Smarten up people,
don't be like herded sheep.
Stand tall and perform
like Miss Bo Peep.

I spend too much time,
thinking about,
the injustices of man,
when I should shout.

Shout to the heavens,
let everyone know,
no more of this,
"Dog and Pony" show.

There are some things in life
which can get really "Old",
when your hot water faucet,
will only provide you cold.
Brr!

Tell me not, how life will be,
for you do not know.
I am still here and will remain
to always be with you.

"Help me", said the ancient one
besmirched.
"I cannot" was the answer,
"Unresearched."

"Leave me be", I said
about the morrow,
for you know not
about the sorrow.

"Why do you tease me?"
he said.
"You know nothing at all about
being dead."

Want not those things in life,
for you may never see,
the blindness of your folly.
It will never be.

Aches and pains I feel now,
will never go away,
or your life will end on
your personal judgement day

I feel broken.
My spirits were good.
My wife's wound is getting better,
I have been told.

I have been called a "Loner", in the past,
I suspect that is my tendency.
What I am feeling now,
is an extreme loss,
I've never felt it before.

There are people, I can talk to
and I frequently do.
I cannot describe this feeling.
I wish I could.
