I've never met anyone so true,
Until I set my eyes, on you.

I love these mornings, clear and bright
That makes great sleeping, most every night.
The only bad, that I can say,
Is, most the flowers, have gone away.
But nature has, a cure for this,
When leaf's bright colors, provide bliss.
There is nothing better, I can see
Then the many colors, brightening a tree.

Can I ask you, to please stay?
If not the night, at least the day?

The crispy weather and ice crusted streams,
A warm bed, with nights pleasant dreams.
Warmer clothing on these cold Fall days,
Your heartiest wish, is the Sun's rays.

Do you tire, of my sad lament?
Is it a waste of my time
Or could my time, best be spent,
In working on a, brand new rhyme?

It matters not, to me or him
But please stop, calling me, your Jim.
Jim's not my first or last name.
So if it is, still so lame
To think of you, are my Mary,
You can now know me as Jerry.

Knowing not how and knowing not when;
Will I ever see, my love again?
I see her now, in this reality,
But not how she was; this finality
Of losing her logic and reasoning, how
Things do work or tell me now.
I dread the day and won't blame,
When she no longer, knows my name.

When the skies, dark with rain, returns,
Will you begin, all your daily yearns,
For the sunshine, from the summer past,
Or wondering, how long it will last?

My challenge, on this day of September,
Is to keep, helping her to remember,
The names and objects, from our past,
Gifts of her love, that will last.

The joy, I envision, on your face,
When there's a newborn, you embrace,
A new granddaughter, was born in September,
An event that you, will always remember.
The joy and love, she will bring,
Will make your, loving heart sing.

I once stood, where you are today,
My choice was, not to run away.
There's an obligation, I owe to you,
To protect you, from what will ensue.

I have to get, on my knees
And shout these words, into the trees.
Please keep, my true love from pain
And let her be, is my refrain.
Oh mighty God, who can be just,
Please help, before I turn to dust.
