The Phoenix rose,
from ashes cold,
after self-destructing,
as Fables told.

Resurrection, anew of
a life consumed by fire,
in a self-built
funeral pyre.

Once again, he lives,
to help those in need.
An act of love,
or a fulfilled deed?

Through the eyes
of the beholder,
her beauty came through.
She has skin like satin,
to name just a few.

Her lips the color of
the reddest rose,
the eyes were, as if,
made of coal.

When she smiled, her teeth,
white as new snow.
She was short, but was
proportioned, just so.

You would never leave her,
for there's no place to go.

Danced the light, lightly,
reflection in her eyes.
A beautiful smile,
leading to sighs.

Men who adored her,
young but unwise,
pursued her with passion,
leading to sighs.

Sleeping was her desire,
not wanting to rise,
she was wanted by others,
leading to sighs.

One may think,
you have won,
when at end of day,
you beat the Sun.

Wait not for she,
the anointed one,
as moon and stars,
will soon succumb.

She rode the skies,
with a grand aplomb,
gathering stars, like
they were ripening plums.

I haven't written,
for you in a while.
When I do write,
I hope you will smile.

Just a little smile,
when my words say.
In the meantime,
please have a great day.

Throughout the day,
into the night,
we risk our lives,
without a fight.

A dry day, outside
a dry day in my mind.
Good to see the sunshine,
helping me to unwind.

When night is gone,
when dawn is near,
I'll wait for you,
please reappear.

Friendship gains
throughout the year,
my love for you,
won't disappear.

Dawn breaks,
like shattered glass,
light and shadows,
spark the sky,
as I look
for you,
knowing not, why.

I knew you when,
before we met.
I'll know you again,
at the final sunset.

a broken branch
covered in clay
in pieces.

This life I've led,
full of daydreams
and half-truths,
has passed by.
