The Eye of the Mountain
Taken with my cell phone while looking out into the forest from inside of the cave behind Big Laurel Falls at the Virgin Falls state natural area in Sparta, Tennessee. Normally there is a steady torrent of water rushing over these Falls but due to the extreme drought All Summer Long there was barely a trickle of water. There was enough however to refill our bottles on the way to the main Falls and back. If you are a serious hiker and you have at least one full day preferably two to three to spare, make sure you visit this location. It is amazing

Drift Away
I made a quick stop by the boat ramp at Lums Pond State Park in Bear Delaware this evening while running errands. This is my favorite place in the area to watch the sunset. On a busy stressful day, like today, I find it quite beneficial to take 15 to 20 minutes and decompress somewhere peaceful
Penns Pier
I took this picture at Battery Park in the historic district of New Castle Delaware. This is the remnant of a very old Pier where William Penn first stepped onto American soil. It is often thought that Penn's Landing in Philadelphia Pennsylvania was his first step into this country but it was here in Delaware in 1682.
American Sunset
I took this picture with my Canon 70d at Battery park along the Delaware river in the historic district of New Castle, Delaware. This is a beautiful area with loads of great history. New Castle was one of the first places settled in the US. The cobblestone streets, old red and yellow brick sidewalks and colonial houses are all original and we'll maintained to their late 1700s/early 100s origins. If you've ever seen or been to colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, or a few other restored colonial era towns, theor designers surely used New Castle as a template.

My Take... you absolutely should explore New Castle. The historic district is wonderful. So many old homes and businesses, the courthouse, city hall, the churches, you could spend days exploring it all
Need a Ride?
This is Randy the stagecoach driver with his horses and the Wells Fargo Stagecoach. I took this picture back in April of last year in Rumson New Jersey covering the parade for a client. It's a beautiful Seaside Town loaded with billion dollar mansions

Burnt Mirror
I took this picture yesterday of the old Bancroft cotton Mills in Wilmington Delaware along the Brandywine River. In its prime, these mills were the largest cotton Mills in the country and one of the largest in the world. The Mills were built back in the 1800s, atop an older mill built in the 1700s, changed hands a few times and were abandoned and burned at least three times in the past decade the most recent being a couple months ago where a large portion of the structure burned for a week straight. There is a little man-made Dam that used to power a water wheel and it creates a perfect little still reflection pool. I'm a bit and then merge with the architectural Decay, colors and textures of this old structure. I hope you enjoy it too

Kirkland's Parklane Gallery (www.parklanegallery.org) will be featuring a special Valentine’s themed show as well as richly colorful paintings by Lois Haskell and colorful abstracts and custom scarves by Ruby Lindner. Continue reading below to learn more about the featured artists...........................
Ruby Lindner -
Ruby is a cross-cultural soul. Originally from the mountains of Colorado, she went to college in Paris, and then moved to Berlin, where she spent her twenties. In 1989, Ruby moved to Seattle. The result of this cultural cross-pollination is an eclectic aesthetic that finds its way directly into her paintings.
Ruby has been painting for 13 years. Since 2014, she has concentrated on an exploration of abstract painting, using unexpected color and texture combinations. Her paintings are playful and often humorous, an attempt to connect more directly with the uncensored creative impulse that drive us when we allow ourselves to get past our inner critic. She is currently showing at Parklane Gallery in Kirkland. Ruby lives in Bellevue, Washington with her husband Jeff and her much-loved shiba inu Riki. See more of Ruby's work at https://rubylindner.wordpress.com
Lois Haskel - The Northwest landscape is Lois’s passion. Many of her oils and watercolors have won awards and her paintings have found homes in many collections around the country.
Lois had the advantage of growing up in a New England town known for it’s community of fine artists. As a young girl she had the opportunity to study with many well-known artists in that area
The San Juan Islands and Skagit Valley have become a favorite place to paint “plein air” and she loves to trudge the back roads and set up an easel to try and catch the light on a water or mountain scene. Lois is currently showing her artwork at Kirklan's Parklane Gallery. Learn more about Lois and her work at: http://loishaskell.com
