Gee, I don’t know. Imagine calling Donald Trump and his gang of goofballs weird. What, them? Elon Musk and his X platform of misinformation? C’mon, we all know he’s as normal as you and me and the potted plant in the room with us. So what if he plans to colonize Mars in our lifetime, probably not a bad plan at all, maybe start with Don and JD? Matt Goetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene? How about Lauren Boebert? Rudy, America’s mayor? Nothing strange about those nice people, right?..... More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜

The Gypsy Dance King

Organizing was his thing,
and he wanted much more.
He'd have a Spring dance,
on the old forest floor.

Directing others,
into organized events,
out in the open air,
no need for tents.

Something happened
in that early Spring,
when the birds went quiet
and they wouldn't sing.

A sad time when this occurred,
but all in all,
things returned to happy times,
for he had taken control.

Control of others, for all,
upcoming, new events,
but this time,
he needed tents.

There is something strange,
when events begin to fail,
for you feel you are trapped
into a new mental jail.

Give up your power
for people you cannot control,
for what you see now,
is pure hyperbole.

It Was Purple

Posted by MFish Profile 08/02/24 at 11:14PM Humor See more by MFish

It was purple in color
it wasn't a cat,
I'm a little uncertain,
but I do know that.

It showed up one day,
as I was going to school,
and before I knew,
it was on my stool.

I didn't have much room
and didn't want to play,
I just hoped it would leave,
and just go away.

Alas, that never happened.
I still wonder and will say.
how did it disappear,
in the middle of the day?

Perhaps someday,
I will understand,
what I saw that day,
was the Deep Purple Rock and Roll Band.

"I went to apply for my State Park Annual Permit yesterday, what used to be free to us citizens, but now costs us taxpayers because the State doesn’t have enough tax dollars for what it used to have enough for so the budget needs to be balanced. Now the poor can pay what the guy launching his 25 foot Bayliner pays for a permit, same way he does at the gas station for the gas tax, same as he does at the drug store, same as he does just about everywhere he buys something. This is what we call Recessive Taxation. No breaks for the indigent. You know, folks we now refer to as Takers...... More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜

A Hand

Posted by MFish Profile 07/18/24 at 10:17PM Humor See more by MFish

A hand protruded from
the base of the wall.
Strange I said,
Is that all?

It appears to be,
that way for sure.
What was he thinking,
how did he endure?

It was easier,
than you might think,
when you are stuck,
beneath the sink.

Under the sink,
did you say?
He was alone working,
he wasn't at play.

What does this have to do
with the hand protruding
from the wall? I must
now tell you, nothing at all.

Driving

Driving down the highway,
going lickety split,
I felt a bump, as if
it was something I hit.

I stopped the car,
as quick as I could.
Feeling awkward, I saw,
I had misunderstood.

Out in the highway,
in the middle of the road,
there stood a species,
of an orange, spotted Toad.

"Why did you hit me?"
the toad began to speak.
I looked and said,
oh, you orange, spotted geek.

Why were you in the roadway,
when you should have been in the bog?
Don't worry about me he said,
I'm not your ugly dog.

"Here’s some good news for you beleaguered gun right advocates: now you can buy your ammo from a vending machine. No need to haul down to your local gun dealer for bullets, just wheel up to the conveniently placed dispenser in your local chain grocery store. Course, at this time the only states where they’re located is Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama but you can rest assure American Rounds, the distributor, will expand exponentially until it reaches your very own Safeway". ...More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜
