"In the U.S., 350 slices are eaten every second, while 40% of Americans eat pizza at least once a week.
There’s a reason why pizza is so popular. Humans are drawn to foods that are fatty and sweet and rich and complex. Pizza has all of these components. Cheese is fatty, meat toppings tend to be rich, and the sauce is sweet". More at The Conversation ➜
"In March 2023, the Japanese medical authorities announced that the new weight loss drug Wegovy—which was in staggering demand across the world, causing shortages everywhere—had been approved to treat obesity in their country......But industry outlet the Pharma Letter explained that this would not in fact turn out to be much of a boost........ for a simple reason: there is almost no obesity there. Some 42% of Americans are obese, compared with just 4.5% of Japanese people." More at TIME ➜
Bees Wax
• 11/12/21 at 10:33PM •I love the smell
of hot bees wax,
at the Rooster Bakery,
which is also a winery.
The owner was doing
his signature move
for his latest wine bottling.
Dipping the neck of
the bottle of wine,
into the hot bees wax,

and an aroma
of great appeal.
All word of mouth,
but the favored wines
are as good as any
I have tasted.

many different flavored
brandies. A favorite, is Pear.

Love me some Starbucks
• 10/17/19 at 03:02PM •I get it. Starbucks is a big-box chain. There’s one on every corner. They aren’t ‘unique.’ Howard Shultz let the Sonics leave Seattle.
I understand all the arguments against Starbucks. And, I love me some mom-and-pop local shopping.
But here’s the deal — I also really like Starbucks. Sure, I’m not going get some ultra-inspiring experience at the green mermaid. But it offers a few things that make it invaluable in my world.
1. Free Internet
2. Consistency
3. Holiday Panini
4. Mobile Office
5. Free (or Cheap) Refills
6. Rewards Program
7. Dog-Friendly
