My mind is fuzzy,
can't write a clear thought.
Perhaps I need more than
the egg rolls I bought.

A small light appears,
in the back of my mind.
A fresh word is seen.
I hope it will find,

a new path home,
so, my head will clear.
It may not last, but
I still think of you dear.

When there aren't any words,
to write about life changes,
there are only so many,
words which work with exchanges,

for a peaceful transition,
from sadness to woe,
another dimension
of understanding when slow.

There are times to reflect
on what used to be,
as shown by this picture when
I was in the United States Navy.

Sometimes things happen,
this you should know.
Memories will fade
and your mind will slow.

Thoughts, which were clear,
when used yesterday,
are missing in action,
or have gone away.

Can memories be recovered?
I believe they can.
Look at some photos,
then you will understand.

Words lay in piles,
on the dining room floor.
Words used, cast offs,
not used anymore.

The problem with that,
as said before,
they become redundant,
when not working anymore.

Words are recyclable,
can vary in size.
Just say, I'm sorry,
there will be no surprise.

Crazed words spill,
from out the brain,
as thoughts of you,
still remain.

I still struggle,
when thinking of you.
These sad thoughts,
will never do.

I will remember
and recall,
all our images from,
the memory wall.

Please, my love,
will you bear with me.
I'm trying to change,
and let life be.

I miss you more,
every waking day.
Wishing you were here,
and hadn't gone away.

Red was her breast,
as she stood under the tree.
I stayed quiet, as she
looked toward me.

I moved slightly,
now she could see.
She flew quickly
up into the tree.

Just a thought
about Twilight.

Our 67th anniversary
is today, June 7, 1957.
It would have been a
joyful event, but my
beautiful bride passed
away, December 24, 2023.

It's with this in mind is why
I only publish the one event,
which reminds me of the love
we had even when I messed up.
Thank you.

Crafting words is a
skill that at times is
missing. Sometimes,
a person gets lucky.

Love, once so strong,
has left, gone away
as the loss of a loved one,
once here, won't stay.

My heart aches,
trying to break.
How much more grief,
must this old man take?

Someone to lean on,
for all those years,
now just confusion,
of loss and tears.

Sad is life,
when fate steps in,
creating a deep sorrow,
as my eyes grow dim.
