"Most discussions of retirement focus on the financial aspects of leaving the workforce: “How to save enough for retirement” or “How do you know if you have enough money for retirement?”
"But this might not be the biggest problem that potential retirees face. The deeper issues of meaning, relevance and identity that retirement can bring to the fore are more significant to some workers." More at The Conversation ➜

There is a life's tenant,
which I find is true.
I need to care for myself,
before I care for you.

When I'v ignored my need,
and helped another,
it's as if I was crazy,
to help my brother.

There is a fine line,
when pondering about the who,
for I am more important,
to me but not to you.

Is it hard and cruel?
I suppose it's true.
Not taking care of me,
then I am nothing too.

I do not like
the things I see.
I do not like them,
for even me.

They are spiteful,
in their respective pose,
and it's their opinion,
like having a nose.

We all have noses.
While it is the truth,
they all are different.
Do you need proof?

Vote for the one,
who will protect your right,
instead of a misogynous,
who is a coward, who won't fight.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:

Why is there a triangle hovering over the Sun? Although the shape is unusual, the type of structure is not: it is part of an evolving solar prominence. Looping magnetic fields on the Sun channel the flow of energetic particles, sometimes holding glowing gaseous structures aloft for months. A prominence glows brightly because it contains particularly hot, dense, or opaque solar plasma. The surprising triangular structure occurred last week. Larger than our Earth, the iconic prominence was imaged by several solar photographers and documented by NASA's Solar Dynamic Observatory to form and violently dissipate in about a day. The featured image was captured in a color of red light emitted strongly by hydrogen. Below, solar fibrils carpet the Sun's chromosphere, while the background sky is so faint in comparison that no stars are visible. Our Sun's surface has been quite active this year.

Out For a Hike

Out for a daily hike,
coming down a dusty trail.
Had hiked to the tree line.
Successfully, I didn't fail.

Walking through the meadow,
I saw a fallen log,
from windstorms, they fell,
across a swampy bog.

Cattails a plenty,
with blackbirds, three.
I was watching them,
as they were watching me.

Bullfrogs, perched upon,
Lilypad's, at least two.
Why did my thoughts,
immediately turn to you?

When Walls

When walls of memories,
have penned you in,
the walls marked with sorrow,
how did it begin?

Memories are happy events,
when looking back in life,
but can turn terrible when,
loaded with too much strife.

We must move forward,
as you cannot stand still.
If you don't take any action,
no one ever will.
