Alberto Giacometti (1901 – 1966) was a Swiss sculptor, painter, draftsman and printmaker. Giacometti was one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. His work was particularly influenced by artistic styles such as Cubism and Surrealism.   Between 1938 and 1944 Giacometti's sculptures had a maximum height of 2.75 inches. After World War II, Giacometti created his most famous sculptures: his extremely tall and slender figurines. In Giacometti's whole body of work, his painting constitutes only a small part. After 1957, however, his figurative paintings were equally as present as his sculptures.

A fiery fold,
a ragged edge,
once banned,
now could be said.

Stay with me,
forever, today,
into the morrow,
What's to say?

You, caught me,
months ago,
wanting to see you,
nowhere to go.

Will you
still love me,
when I'm
old and grey?

Life's hourglass,
running out
of sand,
of time.

It won't
be long
and I will
be gone.

They are both falling. The water in Yosemite Falls, California, USA, is falling toward the Earth. Comet ZTF is falling toward the Sun. This double cosmic cascade was captured late last month as fading Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) had just passed its closest to planet Earth. The orange star just over the falls is Kochab. With the exception of a brief encounter with a black bear, the featured image was a well-planned composite of a moonlit-foreground and long-duration background exposures - all designed to reconstruct a deep version of an actual single sight. Although Comet ZTF is now fading as it glides back to the outer Solar System, its path is determined by gravity and so it can be considered to still be falling toward the Sun -- but backwards. Every Life

Every life has a beginning,
like the songs we sing.
Start your life with laughter
and to your song, bring.

All the desires, for tomorrow,
of this you should always bring
information, which is specific,
to all your songs, to sing.

Using words of pleasure
which make your head ring,
creates the aura of your soul
tugging at our heart strings.

When all of the tomorrows,
have passed and gone away,
may we remain here on earth,
to sing, laugh and play.

What are the costs
for all the baggage we bring,
in everything we know,
even in the saddest thing.

NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:

There is nothing like this ball of stars in our Milky Way Galaxy. This is surprising because, at first glance, this featured image by the Hubble Space Telescope suggests that star cluster NGC 1850's size and shape are reminiscent of the many ancient globular star clusters which roam our own Milky Way Galaxy's halo. But NGC 1850's stars are all too young, making it a type of star cluster with no known counterpart in the Milky Way. Moreover, NGC 1850 is also a double star cluster, with a second, compact cluster of stars visible here just to the right of the large cluster's center. Stars in the large cluster are estimated to be 50 million years young, while stars in the compact cluster are younger still, with an age of about 4 million years. A mere 168,000 light-years distant, NGC 1850 is located near the outskirts of the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy. The glowing gas filaments across the image left, like supernova remnants in our own galaxy, testify to violent stellar explosions and indicate that short-lived massive stars have recently been present in the region.

Across the broad Pacific,
the sea was my home.
My great Uncle Sam,
allowed me to roam.

Travelling to islands,
largely, to me, unknown.
My bunk, my sanctuary,
sailing across sea foam.

Awake, in the morning,
dolphins swam alongside,
while flying fish,
came along for the ride.

Some mornings, cheery,
grey whales were near.
The noise, when breaching,
a great sound to hear.

How many adventures,
where there told,
when I went to sea,
at 20 years old,

❤️ Sweet!

Stay with me, now,
sweet lady, mine,
it's you I long for,
your voice is divine.

I sit on my bed,
the room is cold.
I write these words,
which never gets old.

Each word, I write,
each breath, I take,
moving to the breach
of a life, I forsake.

I will think often,
of these words I compose.
The more I understand,
your life, as a Rose.

Quit looking for content,
trying to understand me.
I am who I am.
It's who I must be.

Will you still love me,
when the brains in my head
have turned to mush,
still alive but not dead?

Writing of days, yonder,
before our time began,
is difficult, in telling,
of a first one-night stand.

There was something exciting,
a rendezvous, a scene,
straight from the movies.
Thank you, James Dean.

A small cafe, a cozy room.
He was meeting someone,
in the rear, by the door.
A planned meet to become,

the richest moment,
in this young man's life.
An exciting event,
meeting his wife.

A love of remembering,
a place of romance,
to be repeated,
as Life's last, slow dance.

Words flow from my head,
by my choice, not chance.
Longing for my love
at life's final dance.
