The world is a much, brighter place,
With your wit and charming ways.
Please know, that always applies to you.
Carry that thought, to your last days.

My senses are spinning, out of control,
The balance that I had, left me.
I can't seem to think, clearly at all,
My patience is, at the moment, too thin.
That is not the way, I intend to be.
I need a break, from this insanity.

Do you think it a talent,
To write, the way I do
Or is it, just a lament,
To mask my point of view?

Why has love gone away, from me?
Perhaps it is only, in my mind.
It has become, a very great mystery.
Please do not think, I am unkind,
To think of myself, at this time.

Sadness, invades my soul.
When it does, my view on life
Changes, to one of poor
Expectations, as those I love,
Slowly, ever slowly pass away.

The ghostly shape, of white Birch trees,
Shimmer slightly, with the approaching breeze.
The sounds of quiet, cannot be seen,
As the Fall colors, change the scene.
I love this beautiful time of year,
When the Winter cold, does fast appear.

Of random thoughts and of random rhyme,
Some come quickly, others take time.

How many a sunset; how many a sunrise,
Will occur before our very own demise?
Some occur early while some occur late,
Not ever knowing, the dictate of fate.

Can love be lost,
After it's been found?
Will love, still be,
If we're not around?
What is this love,
That would still abound?
Does love, just leave,
With nary a sound?

The days of yore, my good friend,
Those days we thought, would never end,
Are long gone now, but still remain,
To remind us, of times gone by,
When we tried hard, not to die.
But now my friend, as we approach senility,
The last of this life's own finality,
Was it worth, the risk and fame,
To hope the world, recalls our name?

Our world today, is dark and dreary.
Of arguments and lies, I grow weary.

Will there be a time, within this life,
When there is, no hate or strife,
When love for others, as we are,
No matter, how close or how far?
