"I went to apply for my State Park Annual Permit yesterday, what used to be free to us citizens, but now costs us taxpayers because the State doesn’t have enough tax dollars for what it used to have enough for so the budget needs to be balanced. Now the poor can pay what the guy launching his 25 foot Bayliner pays for a permit, same way he does at the gas station for the gas tax, same as he does at the drug store, same as he does just about everywhere he buys something. This is what we call Recessive Taxation. No breaks for the indigent. You know, folks we now refer to as Takers...... More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜

A hand protruded from
the base of the wall.
Strange I said,
Is that all?

It appears to be,
that way for sure.
What was he thinking,
how did he endure?

It was easier,
than you might think,
when you are stuck,
beneath the sink.

Under the sink,
did you say?
He was alone working,
he wasn't at play.

What does this have to do
with the hand protruding
from the wall? I must
now tell you, nothing at all.

Driving down the highway,
going lickety split,
I felt a bump, as if
it was something I hit.

I stopped the car,
as quick as I could.
Feeling awkward, I saw,
I had misunderstood.

Out in the highway,
in the middle of the road,
there stood a species,
of an orange, spotted Toad.

"Why did you hit me?"
the toad began to speak.
I looked and said,
oh, you orange, spotted geek.

Why were you in the roadway,
when you should have been in the bog?
Don't worry about me he said,
I'm not your ugly dog.

A kindred moment,
as friends depart,
with long goodbyes,
doing their part

to assure we will,
meet again,
be it in sunshine
or a day of rain.

Hope to see you,
this time next year,
if God is willing
and you buy the beer.

"Here’s some good news for you beleaguered gun right advocates: now you can buy your ammo from a vending machine. No need to haul down to your local gun dealer for bullets, just wheel up to the conveniently placed dispenser in your local chain grocery store. Course, at this time the only states where they’re located is Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama but you can rest assure American Rounds, the distributor, will expand exponentially until it reaches your very own Safeway". ...More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜

There is a time.
There is a place.
It's not now,
you're in my face.

The room was quiet.
A voice of mute.
She smiled, her eyes,
so very cute.

As a young man,
with more fantasies
than one should,
in the Eyes of God.

The dog, the food,
the creek I'd wade,
were perfect then,
in the life I made.

Youthful times,
imagination yours,
alone again,
but know chores.

I wild time
in those days gone bye,
when memories fade,
like apple pie.

A car lover,
I still am.
From my youth,
to now when it will end.

I'm going to
stop driving a car.
Won't like it, but
that is the bar.

A kindred moment,
as friends depart,
with long goodbyes,
doing their part,

to assure we all,
will meet again,
be it sunshine,
or a falling rain.

Hope to see
you next year,
if God is willing,
and you buy the beer.

Riding a dappled pone,
we called "Old Paint".
A gentle animal,
naw, I'd say she ain't.

Wide across,
to spread your legs,
she would do what she wanted,
on those, bony, spindly legs
