Oh, Winter times,
extra eating I berate,
for I must try anew,
having to lose weight.

Writing so much tripe,
so many useless words,
my brain is a dead zone,
this happening is absurd.

I reach out to you
my thoughts to take.
May I have some relief,
please give me a break.

Long lay the stick,
on the path I trod.
I'm sure you are saying,
this sounds quite odd.

Pick up the stick,
is what I would say.
No one else will,
at least not today.

Why all the fuss
about a broken stick?
If I am walking,
the stick I don't pick,

may cause me to stumble
doing a head plant,
nose face in the dirt.
No, I won't. I just can't.

Full of emotions,
it's hard to think
about tomorrow's
swim or sink.

Having strange dreams,
thoughts in my head.
Not a pleasant one,
snakes in my bed.

Frivolous, the talk
about a discussion
which was instrumental,
a Bass drum, percussion.

Oh, Rooster boy,
what's in your craw?
Did you just
fly in from Omaha?

Long he wandered,
searching, ever searching
for his once upon a time home.
He traveled the World for years,
writing about his travels.
He awkwardly wrote a poem.

Know not your name,
know not your home,
in a short time, you'll
be in an original Poem.

Out of the blue,
reaching for air.
Realizing then,
didn't know where.

Stepped on a branch,
made too much noise.
Stop with your drinking,
when out with the boys.

Why do I care,
when I'm by myself,
so here I sit, lonely,
The Elf on the shelf.

Now I'm alone,
what should I do?
You're looking for me,
I'm looking for you.

Snowed last night,
lovely to see,
making travel difficult.
Snow driving not for me.

Along came a horseman,
not on a horse I could see,
but driving his pickup,
like you and me.
