I'll write about everything,
which pops into my head.
Writing about being alive,
when our society seems dead.

Lack of civility by leaders
of sort,
who should have warned us,
and decided to abort.

No one likes a liar,
except, for this one.
We should have been listening.
Now, it's over and done.

How can you believe in
someone, who lies all the time?
Making disparaging remarks
about women and their character.

I don't understand,
and probably never will,
being told you will like him,
this New York City shill.

Out for a daily hike,
coming down a dusty trail.
Had hiked to the tree line.
Successfully, I didn't fail.

Walking through the meadow,
I saw a fallen log,
from windstorms, they fell,
across a swampy bog.

Cattails a plenty,
with blackbirds, three.
I was watching them,
as they were watching me.

Bullfrogs, perched upon,
Lilypad's, at least two.
Why did my thoughts,
immediately turn to you?

She was a long, tall woman,
in a black dress,
when I saw her enter the room.
A vision of loveliness, no hint
of impending doom.

She talked to me at length, saying,
"I don't mean you any harm,'
then grabbed me by hand,
which was on my left arm.

"Come with me, my friend,"
is what she said to me.
"You may have all the pleasure,
and to you it is free."

I won't disappoint about my ,
having a wonderful time.
when, I awoke, from my reverie,
of this dream and it was all fine.

Strolling down the avenue,
nothing else to do,
except to start searching
for the elusive you,

I rode a black horse,
wearing a white hat.
He looked funny,
being dressed like that.

"I guess since all my cronies are throwing in the towel and taking retirement on schedule, it’s only reasonable I’ve been getting calls from the Mabana Financial Services asking if I’d like to come on down to their lavish offices overlooking the Port of Mabana and discuss fiscal strategies for my upcoming Golden Years. Ho ho, would I ever? Course, like I tell Ben, the head honcho down at MFS, it’s a little like saddling up the horse that ske-daddled when I left the barn door open back in my earning years. Earning years. Old Ben loves expressions like that". More at The Skeeter Daddle Diaries ➜

Three is a number,
uno, dos, and trey,
but not a number,
which includes you and me.

For three becomes trey,
and as you can see,
it can't be you and I,
but it could be we.

Is life as strange
as it seems,
or is this just another,
case of perpetual dreams?

I don't know,
and will not reply,
for if I do,
perhaps, I will die.

A spanner wrench,
an abandoned boat.
A picture of vessel,
which would again float.

Pull it apart,
as you can see,
the wrench is nothing,
the boat won't see the sea.

Organizing was his thing,
and he wanted much more.
He'd have a Spring dance,
on the old forest floor.

Directing others,
into organized events,
out in the open air,
no need for tents.

Something happened
in that early Spring,
when the birds went quiet
and they wouldn't sing.

A sad time when this occurred,
but all in all,
things returned to happy times,
for he had taken control.

Control of others, for all,
upcoming, new events,
but this time,
he needed tents.

There is something strange,
when events begin to fail,
for you feel you are trapped
into a new mental jail.

Give up your power
for people you cannot control,
for what you see now,
is pure hyperbole.

It was purple in color
it wasn't a cat,
I'm a little uncertain,
but I do know that.

It showed up one day,
as I was going to school,
and before I knew,
it was on my stool.

I didn't have much room
and didn't want to play,
I just hoped it would leave,
and just go away.

Alas, that never happened.
I still wonder and will say.
how did it disappear,
in the middle of the day?

Perhaps someday,
I will understand,
what I saw that day,
was the Deep Purple Rock and Roll Band.

A seduction,
may occur,
when the mind is ready,
and if the body is pure.

Words, well written,
are sweet as honey,
if said in the moment,
you may be in the money.
