Over the hill
across the Dell,
why can't I find,
the loneliest trail?

A trail so lonely,
fraught with woe.
Seeking peace but
I know it won't be soon.

Sometimes I need to wander.
Sometimes I need to roam,
when the need is over,
I need to return to my home.

When I am alone,
more frequent now,
then it used to be,
I question how,

I have moments of
many unique personalities,
and find the one I love,
is the one who personifies
me.

Long ago,
far away,
I heard,
someone say,
"Why is
life so
cruel?"

What happened
to the "Golden Rule?"
Why hate?
Why not
love.

Is life
so meaningless,
when seen
from above.

If God
is just
and good,
why is
he misunderstood?

The World lays
twisted and torn.
There are times I wish,
I hadn't been born.

Other days,
when life is grand,
I realize it is time
to pay the band.

So, what do you say,
when there's something new?
Work harder you must,
it's what you must do.

There is an art in listening
and when it's at an end,
be thankful for that someone,
for they are a true friend.

Thank you for listening,
I'm happy you understand,
as the sadness in my heart,
is now, starting to mend.

From far across
the Sea of blue,
he searched, aways,
looking for you.

Your beauty is renown,
smiling away,
with nary a frown.

Why are you now,
tucked away,
where you seldom see
the light of day?

Residents, too many,
for the support they need,
for daily functions of being,
dressed or to feed.

Why must a life,
end in this way?
Is there a reason?
I know but can't say.

Forlorn the World,
in sadness lain,
loss of lives by terrorist,
Why?

When will hatred end?
Is this truly, God's way?
It is hard to fathom
the rational needed,
to believe what we do,
is right.

A Wayward life,
now past due,
for the light you see,
is nothing new.

Random thoughts
of no substance.
Off the wall comments,
luck by chance.

What is said,
matters not to me.
If I have a drink,
then I may see.

I'll go away,
you can sleep,
for my thoughts
are shallow, not deep.

These words,
make sense, not.
All you can see,
is all I've got.

Before the time,
you came into view,
there was no one,
I knew exactly like you.

So here we sit at
the end of our life,
you are my love,
my beautiful wife.

Too many memories,
when I reflect.
Why am I still standing,
why am I erect?

I should be,
in a hole in the ground,
or my ashes tossed
in the wind, blown around.
