I remember the time,
many years ago,
in San Diego, California.
I was twenty years old.

I was in the U S Navy,
the first time alone,
during the holidays,
so far from home.

A mass of dark clouds,
hung over his head.
Depression it was,
still alive and not dead.

A vision of loveliness,
trapped in my head.
A beautiful image,
all which will be said.

A sleekness of coat,
topped off with a hat,
beauty personified
and other words like that.

When I first met you,
my heart was yours to take.
I was a fool in love with you,
knowing not why my heart would ache.

Now, my heart is old,
apart now, a heart break.
You don't remember my name.
It's OK, you love me when awake.

My brain seems to
be running slow.
In the dining room
for breakfast, listening to
Christmas Carols, instrumental
music. "Have yourself a
merry, little Christmas" makes
my heart swell, with hope,
of love for the season
and the New Year.

When does the law
of supply and demand,
kick in for the use
of grey cells from this
aged brain?
No more questions poised,
no more answers given.
What is the use of
asking questions, when there
is
no answer to be given?

You captured my heart,
a quaint, little smile.
You hugged and made me
feel good for a while.

What light
blinds the eye,
when Dawn
comes forth?

When will
this pain pass,
going another way?
Will it be
leaving, not to stay?

Of all the love in the World today,
It's you I seek and pray,
Please stay with me,
Sweet love of mine.

When friends are nearby,
there is comfort
of being close

A strange moment,
an awkward hello.
I tripped over my tongue,
as I attempted to show
my sophistication.
A few stumbling words,
did not farewell,
as I embarrassed myself.
A job well done.

Happy Holidays to all. No matter what you call your respective holiday, be it Christmas, Chanuka or other celebrations. Please enjoy peace and understanding of all our neighbors and their own beliefs.
For me, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
