Guilt is a terrible thing,
as is the thought of abandonment.
I see my beloved. She has changed,
from a confident entity to one who
harbors some paranoia.
She has no concept of time and
doesn't know how long it has been,
since she last saw me.
She tells me she loves me,
ad infinitum, saying she wants to go
with me.

Love the laughter,
which I hear.
Love the smiles,
when they appear.

Love's the word,
which will appear,
when seeing one,
you love, so dear.

Crazy time,
when residents roam,
"Anyone have a car,
so, I can go home?"

I am struggling.
with an emotional bent.
Observing my loved one,
losing her mind.
Unable to clearly state,
her feelings, to me.
As I write, my eyes,
start to leak.
Emotions unchecked.
Unprepared am I,
why does a
grown man cry?

Under a dark cloud, hiding,
an unrepentant love.
Long in anguish, must I wait,
to hear from Heaven, up above.

The shadows, beneath the tree,
hiding this lost soul, me.
Unable to adjust to life,
when I'm at the moment,
can't stay with my wife.

When I pause, thinking,
of all the years gone by,
recalling our life together,
then I begin asking why?

Why did my love, so bright,
be diagnosed with Dementia disease.
What did she do to deserve this?
Answer the question, please.

Increasing wind,
across grassy fields.
Wind swept plains,
Nature's tools.

Fields of wheat,
waves of gold,
beautiful sight,
never gets old.

Comes the harvest,
combines in view.
Harvesting grain,
thinking of you.

Harvest time
in the Northwest,
a season change,
it is the best.

Magical times,
at this moment,
to talk
with another.
To me,
it's entertainment.

Beneath the Willow's
drooping branches,
a safe location,
is where I hide.
Long were the evenings,
where I was hiding,
to avoid the hurt,
from the outside.

Forever more,
my heart is to be,
in a place where
I'll wait for thee.

You are my light,
from up above.
You are my
first true love.

Long after I've
passed gone,
you'll find me,
in words of a song.

After Fate has rendered,
all of my love,
please search the World,
for your treasure trove.

So long the night,
so long the day,
so long my love,
so late to say.
