Up Stepped the Devil
A Comment by Yelena
Healing through Jesus Christ sending to your body✋🏻🤚🏻Amen.
Up stepped the Devil,
hitting me between the eyes.
I had no inkling,
it was a huge surprise.
Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer,
a big one, for its size.
I understood the importance,
and at that moment realized,
It's a new game,
with some extra strife,
for we are talking about,
the ending of my life.
Thank you all for the prayers
and the kind words you say.
I will try to beat this,
every single day.
What happens tomorrow,
if the Sun never comes.
Will I still be breathing,
will I become the one?
You can't predict the future.
These words ring true, for me,
for if I could, I would find,
the beautiful, lovely thee.
Why speculate about,
a day which may never come
for no matter what happens,
my time will be done.
When love returns,
to your heart,
it will bring,
recommitting of life's part,
which will elude us,
everyday,
before you know it,
love has gone away.
There are no thoughts,
in this old head,
about the rites of Spring,
just I'm no longer dead.
Times were bad,
nothing to be said,
when you're not here,
I won't be afraid.
You're a beacon,
in the life of this man.
I value our friendship,
as I always can.
A small stream,
flowing through hills and trees.
A Summer outing,
with a cooling breeze.
Such was the scene,
when I was a boy.
A family picnic,
a summer joy.
Rippling waters, cascade,
over rock and clay.
Oh the memories,
of that summer day.
The smell of cold fried chicken,
potato salad and baked beans,
are my memories of,
the summer picnic scenes.
There are times,
in this short life, ours,
when you need a friend,
not a "cheer leader."
I lost an important,
person in my life.
I'm still grieving, but, sometimes,
others, can suck the air from the room.
It exhausts me,
when I hear talk about
the past. Not your fault,
but sometimes, "Silence is golden."
When the jagged, little edges,
have left their frame to play,
will the empty panes of glass,
vanish and go away?
I don't know the answer,
and probable never will,
but I will tell you now,
I won't take another pill.
When love says, its last goodbye,
when your lover has left you to die.
What is your next recourse?
Deal with your grief, of course.
Do others see
all our frailties,
when we are alone,
and fearful?
If I were you
and you were me,
would I see freely
what you think of me?
Would you see the
love in my eyes
or hear my frightful cries?
Would I know you
as you know me,
in this abstract of uncertainty?
I don't know.
How about you?
A vertical line,
a hazardous plane.
I'm on the edge,
of going insane.
Unsure of what
is happening to me.
Do you know of
what I can see?
Asking the same question,
over and over again,
makes me question,
will there be pain?
I don't like pain pills,
but have been asked,
would you take them,
if the pain has been tasked?
Yes, I would,
if need be,
but I want my mind
to be clear and free.
Strangers we are,
when we are born.
Strangers still,
when our lives are worn.
I am a stranger, to myself.
I suppose that I will always be.
For I know not the answers,
About this, so called reverie.
Help me understand, what's happening to me,
For this moment; time will be set free.
It can be surprising,
when we see the
weakness in ourselves.
No rush to judgement,
it's just the way it is.
Here, I do sit
A powerless twit,
That is afraid to say
About this day
And about tomorrow's dawn,
Or life beyond.
The fear I have,
Comes every day
And just won't go away.
I hate the weakness
Inside of me
And pray that God
Will also see,
A man who is trying,
Even though he's crying
Inside, so no one can see,
His intense fight with agony.
