I discovered last night,
my beloved, knows how to punch.
5 jabs to the left ribs.
Fortunately, she has no power.
This morning a staff member,
asked my why, my right eye was
black. Don't recall getting hit in
the face but anger escalated quickly.
I wish I knew what I did which she
didn't like as I tire of getting hit and
sworn at. I know she won't remember.
I am a grown man, so these things
shouldn't affect me, but they do.
I am not upset, just saddened.
I do still love her

I am so pathetic,
searching for a friend,
to talk about life,
until our time ends.

Words, so many,
sentences, a few.
I am stir crazy,
thinking about you.

Oh, the life I've led.
There will be no tomorrow.
No more the shedding of tears,
as I wade through the sorrow.

How much anguish,
will it take?
How much crying,
will it take?
How many broken hearts,
will it take,
before this emotional issue,
will break?

I have lost her,
It's what I fear.
She is quieter,
when I'm near.

My mind is blocked,
confusion does reign,
when I no longer,
can feel the pain.

The pain of losing,
someone, so dear,
as I see her own
memories disappear.

I sat with my wife, today.
Emotions, out in the open.
I couldn't control my eyes,
as they wept,
leaking tears,
pouring down
my cheeks.
I blamed it on hay fever.

What are these words,
which flow from my pen,
saying nothing by
day's end?

Work is hard,
difficult to do,
when my only thoughts
are about you.

My head overflows
with thoughts, about you,
yet, here I am,
away, alone now, too

I wasn't first,
wasn't last.
Don't talk about
a forgotten past

You were young.
I was too old.
You weren't bashful,
I was too bold.

The errors we made
in a checkered past,
are not returning,
gone away, didn't last.

Too few the words,
stuck in my head,
need to get creative
and go back to bed.

The lack of sleep is
taking its due.
I must take care,
if I am to care for you.
