I'll talk not,
how my emotions scream,
when remembering,
our life was a dream.

Days and weeks,
rapidly go bye,
convincing me,
time does fly.

Talk about,
the speed of light,
as minutes and hours,
take flight.

Would that I,
as dense as I are,
could control time.
We could go far.

On the patio,
enjoying a light breeze.
Heat isn't present,
the air, great to breathe.

The joy I feel,
depends upon,
the amount of guilt,
I carry.

Guilt is non quantifiable,
yet I seem to carry this
burden with me.
It's not intentional.

It is reprehensible to me,
when I feel so helpless,
unable to do anything,
except provide comfort.

I miss you Rae
and your lovely voice.
You moved away.
I won't rejoice.

It's good to see you,
from whence you come,
for you bring brightness,
you bring the Sun.

Life can be mundane,
in this place, not a home.
I enjoy your visits with Ellie,
they make me feel less alone.

Are you brave,
or a coward like me,
who is reluctant to let go,
for I need her with me.

I sit and wonder,
just where you are.
Are your memories,
forgotten and no more?

I worry now,
more than before.
It makes me love you,
more and more.

A long, lonesome
goodbye.
No, "I love you," kind
of try.

Life changes,
every day,
so why bother if love
will stray?

Sitting next to my beloved
in Memory Care, for awhile.
She's sleeping but awakes,
giving me a lovely smile.

I love visiting my wife,
she has been my rock,
Dementia raised its ugly head,
as I sit in daily shock.

I'm missing your lovely face,
every waking moment, of my life.
How I wish you could,
return to me, my lovely wife.

It was late,
in early Spring,
as a new love,
I learned to sing.

Sing about all
the joys in life,
being together,
with my lovely wife.

What has happened,
during these long years,
when life has changed,
and now I have many fears.

I can't change
the outcome, laying ahead.
I pray I can, but
what I see, is nothing good.

Anticipation, of what lies ahead,
about the fate I will find.
A slow goodbye, for
the love of mine.
