Tougher

Tougher than nails
was my Dad, to me.
Happy and joyful,
he let me see,
the love and pride,
which was to be,
my memory of him;
he is now free
as I, his son am
on the road to finality.

A Mystery

Posted by MFish • Profile • 11/18/21 at 10:59PM • Life Stories - Memories • See more by MFish

A mystery arose,
I cannot explain,
all I heard was
someone saying your name.
What memories there are
from those darkest of skies,
across oceans, where countries are.
Engaging in discussion with you
appears to be driven
by my question of who.
Who are you "Lady of Night",
whose travelling exploits,
provide views of a new site.
A travel adventure
promised by just you,
of new places to see,
the opportunities to view.
Thank you for sharing
travels with me,
as I satisfy
my own curiosity.

In a Cabin

Posted by MFish • Profile • 11/13/21 at 10:13PM • Life Stories - Memories • See more by MFish

We're in a cabin,
deep in the woods.
The fire is dying,
some embers are bright,
perhaps they will last
through the chilly night.
I hear an Owl hoot,
from someplace nearby.
The sound it makes
is more like a cry.
more night sounds,
the creak of new wood,
as the cold and heat
shrinks it, as it should.
There is a new sound
of silence, you can hear,
others now breathing.
I catch my self,
as I have a big yawn.
Back to sleep now,
it's close to the Dawn.
