Darkness approaches,
the end of the day.
Light is fading
into shades of grey.
Soon it will be dark,
no light to betray
the glorious sunset
now gone away.

You are the one.
There is no doubt.
My voice may whisper.
For you I shout.

If I stroll,
is it an amble?
or a walk?
A slow scramble,
when I jog,
with steps, slow.
I'm not in a hurry,
to stumble so,
when I ran
so long ago.
I trained
for distance,
not speed,
for I no
longer have
any need.

What happens
when your life,
flashes, before
your eyes,
as the love
of your life,
slowly slips away.
Memory fails.
Slipping from
Dementia,
into full
blown Alzheimer's

Indifference,
I don't like it.
To ignore an issue,
because you do not care,
is almost criminal.
Things which should
be done, aren't.
Sitting around to chit-chat'
when there are tasks
to be done, is neglect.
Sorry for the rant,
but indifference,
tears my heart apart.

Of all the words
in this World, ours
is infatuation.
for women and cars.
What drives mortal man
to love women and exotic cars?

My heart,
my love,
forget me not.
Yesterday I sat,
beside you and
you said I
was gone,
as in no
longer here.
You said
you love me.
Is it a sham?
Then you say,
"this is my man."

From first glance she
appeared sound of mind,
but I was mistaken.
A beautiful challenge,
appearing to me,
but I loved another
more lovely than she.

Please tell me true,
for I have found
I am missing you.
All your wonderful joy
when we were a
young girl and a boy.
What dreams we had
no longer our reverie,
now, at this time
just a missing memory.

A shrill cry pierced
the night air,
sending a shiver up
this aged spine.
What noise therein lies,
brought pain again
and then the sighs,
from love, now gone
to a place, awaiting
a companions return?

First was the light,
springing from her eyes.
No longer young,
now more mature.
She still attracted those,
who fancied them close.
Say not the words,
stuck in the mouth,
for all I know,
were on their way South.

Sadness seeps from
out her eyes,
as she talks to me
with words of sighs.
"I miss my dad"
who passed away.
I want to see him
now, here today.
"My fathers gone,
and so is mom.
I am alone ,
no one to look after me.
Why can I not see
my loved ones?"
