The nooks and crannies
of my life,
Are full of fears
for my wife.

Fear of what's coming
on this day.
A fear of watching
her slip away.

A fear of what was,
will never be.
Fear of love lost
with her memory.

A fear that comes
at darkest night,
No matter the hour
or the light.

Living long, in this day and age,
When the homeless abound on the street,
Means our society must turn the page
And fulfill obligations that we must meet.

When you walked out of my door,
My heart lay broken, on the floor.
The memories burn brightly, in my mind.
Someday, perhaps, you'll meet your own kind.
Someone who will walk away from view.
See what that does to you.

I know this and that's for certain,
There will soon be a final curtain,
For all of us, as mere mortals,
Will pass from life to different portals.
Some will go to heaven, some to hell,
It's not too late to yet tell,
Those you love and tell them well.
Please do it now; don't delay,
Prepare yourself for that final day.

Time to rise; get out of bed.
Clear the thoughts from within my head.
Thoughts that have no place to stay,
For writing them down, for display,
Would help not myself nor thine,
For these thoughts will always be mine.

Did you decide to leave,
When we first said hello?
Was it something, I said,
That was harsh, not mellow?
I'll probably never know why
It was, a short goodbye.
Now I say to you,
Fond wishes and adieu.

A beacon of light, in the darkness.
A guiding light, is what must be,
If we're to continue to be free
Of the hate, existing in this mess
That is being stirred, in this way
By a leader that's trying to stay,
Atop of his party, that will condone
The whims of one, that should atone
To this country, that's a great nation
And to stop this hateful aberration.

Here, I do sit
A powerless twit,
That is afraid to say
About this day
And about tomorrow's dawn,
Or life beyond.
The fear I have,
Comes every day
And just won't go away.
I hate the weakness
Inside of me
And pray that God
Will also see,
A man who is trying,
Even though he's crying
Inside, so no one can see,
His intense fight with agony.

The strange thoughts, go through my head.
Perhaps I should just, go back to bed.
The life we love in these days
At this very moment, does me, amaze.

When I was twenty-two,
I thought I would live forever.
At the age of thirty-two,
Life was ever so grand.
When I was forty-two
A convertible was my ride.
At the age of fifty-two,
Life was good again.
When I turned sixty-two,
Retirement intrigued me so.
At the age of seventy-two,
The love was life and care.
When I was eighty-two,
Aches and pains were there.
As I await ninety-two,
I worry not, about life's vision,
For that will be God's decision.

I want to tell you
What life is about.
The love another,
Will scream and shout,
To all the heavens
Of a love so devout,
While it's painfully happy,
Will never give out.

Will you ever come back to me,
So the way we were, will be,
The life we shared, with deep emotion
And will be one of loves devotion?
