Out of the window, I do gaze.
The amount of rain falling, does amaze.
Sounds of rain, on roof and gutter,
Tend to make me mutter,
About the quantity of rain I see,
Providing to the flowers and tree.
The results of this water downpour,
Should provide, for Spring flowers, galore.

My heart is broken.
Split in two,
When I realize,
I'm losing you.
You've lost your memory,
I did too,
While losing our history,
What to do?
There is a theory,
Told to who?
About regaining reverie,
That's not true.

Of snakes, dragons and dinosaurs,
Those tales of old, that are no more.
To have walked once, where they trod,
Would be an experience so very odd.
Just imagine, if you will, in your mind
If you could see them all, one at a time.

The sins of our past,
Have now come to rest,
In the minds, deepest core,
No matter the reason why
Or what has happened then.
Those thoughts will now leave
As our long journey ends.

There was a time, that I do recall.
It may have been Winter or the Fall.
Coming home late, in early morning hours,
It was beginning to rain, more like showers.
The oldest son, had a newspaper route,
So I decided to wake him and help out.
The papers were delivered to our front door,
So I brought them in, to lay on the floor.
Folding the papers, to protect from the rain,
Was the routine, that I did now maintain.
I was down on my knees, this early day,
When my wife's voice, I heard say,
"What do you think you're doing there?"
My reply was, "Taking our son on his route."
Her voice came back to me, "In your suit?"
My response, not the best, "It's a classy neighborhood."
Out on the route, I took our young son,
Delivering papers, until it was done.
Back to the house, to shower and change
And drive back to work, in my mélange.
As I recall that there was no discussion
For the next several days.

A yellow Kangaroo, a purple kid,
Makes me wonder, what Mom did.
The next thing, I expect to see?
A polka dotted Zebra, in front of me.

My heart is broken, my joints are rust.
The love I have, lies in the dust.
You're here, with me, body in kind,
But no where, can I hear your mind.
This life we lead, continues, I fear
Of memory loss, until we disappear.
I love you so, my beautiful one
Until our lost souls, fly to the Sun.

No matter the time
No matter the place.
I still can recall
Your beautiful face.
A face that radiates
Your happiness.
Among wind blown trees,
You were the loveliest one.
The one I'd see, at morning Sun.
The years have passed,
Oh so quickly
But your age defies,
What I see.
Your skin is so clear,
Without a flaw.
Are you sure
That you're a Grandma?

The rain is back, I won't complain,
For the soil was parched, beyond belief.
So thank you for all the windy rain
And the flowers are sighing from relief.

A time to live,
A time to die.
A time for us,
For the long goodbye.

I love the way you smile at me.
Watching you, live out your life,
In spite of the onslaught of this disease,
Give's me strength to see the beautiful
Wife that God provided for me.
I will cherish and hold you, but that's
Harder to do, as you don't like touching
Or hugging, of you.
I will always remember, the way that
You were, when our young love
Was in view. I especially love talking
With you, hard as it is for you
To remember. Stay strong for me, my
Sweet wife. I'll stay with you
For the rest of my life.

The wind was cold, on this day,
Swirling, gusts filled with white
Blossoms, from flowering trees,
That line the parking strip,
Outside Redmond Urgent Care.
