I want to hold you,
real close to me,
for there is nowhere,
I would rather be,

than in your arms
to protect thee,
from those rascals,
exactly like me.

We all crowd together,
avoiding being alone,
yet here we are,
lyrics in a sad song.

Rational thoughts elude me.
My head is aching.
Missing you so much,
my old heart is breaking.

A greyish day,
little sun,
and yet,
somehow,
my thoughts,
become confused,
as I, tried,
to remember,
your name.

Such is life,
if that's the name
of a most
brutish game,
of let's pretend,
you remember me.

Conversations,
become inane,
as I try my best,
to avoid
becoming insane.

Down on the street,
across the avenue,
I keep searching,
searching for you.

You are my light,
the beacon I see,
for to live happy,
I must have thee.

Life is forever,
until it's not.
The happiness you seek,
cannot be bought.

When the great equalizer
passes you by.
When your in pain,
and you know not why,

Stop for a moment,
stop with the lament.
You have a good home,
don't live in a tent.

You sat with another,
after sitting with me.
That's ok. I understand,
you don't trust, I see.

Is that conceit, I feel,
as I write this down,
when I behave like
a classical clown?

when I think of you,
alone and afraid,
you were abandoned,
by those you loved.

Why must I
be this way.
Afraid to see you.
I miss your voice, more
than words can say.
Perhaps I should leave
and go away.

Dawn breaks,
like shattered glass,
light and shadows,
spark the sky,
as I look
for you,
knowing not, why.

I wish to see
you smile again,
bringing the sunshine,
skipping the rain.

A beautiful morning
of a wonderful day.
Great to see you
hearing, "Happy Tuesday".
