I visited my wife,
yesterday afternoon.
She was in bed,
asleep.

It's confusing.
I'm saddened,
to see her like this.
A picture of what's to come.

A long time ago,
in a place far away,
I traveled there
to relax and play.

A wonderous location,
the climate was right.
Entertainment outstanding,
both day and night.

I was relaxing,
no longer in gloom,
when a vision, of loveliness
entered the room.

She was beautiful,
it was plain to see.
I sensed an attraction,
perhaps it was me.

I stopped to talk,
an introduction for me,
she replied, "Move on,
I have no interest in thee."

I love using words,
which comes to my mind.
Thank you, God,
for being this kind.

There may be a proverb,
stuck in my head.
It's best to keep living
and avoid being dead.

When reality comes
to your bed,
as you search for words,
which you have read.

There will be time,
when danger is near,
and your memories,
will disappear.

Talk to me about tomorrow.
Talk to me about today.
Talk to me, about when,
my beloved goes away.

Spare me the platitudes,
those I don't need,
just share in my sorrow,
and provide my soul with feed.

Of this I am certain,
from this I know,
if you don't step forward,
you've nowhere to go.

In the beginning,
take one step at a time.
Have some cheese and crackers
and a bottle of wine.

Alone,
she sits.
No one at the table.
How must this feel?

She doesn't know
or understand
and yet, when
I go to leave,

I see sadness,
but the words
won't come
to her.

Does she understand,
but can't explain?
I don't know,
but what if

she does know?
Is that
a tenable issue?

Upward, the wind burst,
into the sky.
Upward the kite flew,
on winds up high.

It did rain,
plants wet with dew.
Thinking of memories,
about me and you.

Fill the pot slowly,
before I can't
have the strength.
Should I now rant?

Rant about things,
out of our control.
A wasting of life,
oh, what a toll.

When did lying
become an acceptable
practice? When is someone,
responsible for what they say?

What sayeth you
to the one in charge?
asking questions from above,
either small or large.

Do you think I'm a fool,
without a clue?
What do you say?
What about you.

A rumble of
voices, a noise.
A babble of tones,
do you suppose,

people conversing,
talking along,
so many topics,
a mumbling song.
