As a writer of words,
a singular dread
is having song lyrics
stuck in my head.

I realize all the words
aren't correct or right,
but in my head, they
continue all night.

"Tell me something good
in this cold, cruel World.
Help me to understand,
love of a boy and girl.

Don't run away from me,
my love is here to stay.
Keep me close to you,
please don't push me away."

I know you are afraid
of losing our love
and I will pray, as I
ask for help from above.

Bright

Bright was the light,
dim was the scene,
when the end of sanity,
overtook the grand dream.

Long will I wander,
alone in the World,
as I search for my love,
amongst a heartache of swirl.

It was a great life,
now over in a flash,
as my mental partner's
memory turned to ash.

The Home

The home is not a place,
in which I dwell.
Only lost memories,
with no one to tell,
about the love
which lived here,
not long ago.
The love of another,
is better than nails,
to hold a home together,
something I can no longer do.
All of life's possessions,
mean so little to me.
They are the memories,
forgotten. Now gone
and will soon go away,
lost from the mind
of she, who brought love
to this place of emptiness,
once was our home.
