When Night Falls
When night falls,
at Heaven's door,
leave this place,
you need no more.
Need not the grief,
which comes this way,
as incessant chatter,
is now on display.
There isn't a concept
of time or place,
when her mind is
mostly vacant space.
Questions, constantly of,
where are we,
becomes a need to answer,
for both me and she.
Forlorn
Forlorn,
I am lost,
need to explain,
why it is difficult,
for me to self-train.

Thank you Jerry, but the thanks belong to you. I always look forward to reading your posts and I know others do as well. They are a gift which is appreciated.
I'M Missing You
I'm missing you now,
more than I can say,
as we rapidly approached,
our Anniversary date.
Sixty-six years
of wedded bliss.
We'll see it tomorrow,
with one more kiss.
You say you love me,
I know that you do,
as my heart swells,
because it's you.
You were asleep,
yesterday. I sat with
you for hours, a few,
leaving without telling
you, "Happy Anniversary".

A Flame Now Lit (Warped humor)
A flame, now lit
as a story came,
about one person,
with a funny last name.
Joe Dweed, was the man
who had to place blame,
on the person,
with the funny last name.
So, what, you say,
it has already been said.
It's nuts, full of heartaches
and sorrow, so he fled.
Why run away when
you have a funny last name,
it was nothing you did.
There's no reason for shame.

in a darkness still,
avoiding a danger,

Is It Temporary Blindness
Is it temporary blindness,
or is it just me,
when the wait staff,
fail to recognize me?
Elephant's Trunk and Caravan • 06/08/23
NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day:
Like an illustration in a galactic Just So Story, the Elephant's Trunk Nebula winds through the emission region and young star cluster complex IC 1396, in the high and far off constellation of Cepheus. Seen on the left the cosmic elephant's trunk, also known as vdB 142, is over 20 light-years long. This detailed telescopic view features the bright swept-back ridges and pockets of cool interstellar dust and gas that abound in the region. But the dark, tendril-shaped clouds contain the raw material for star formation and hide protostars within. Nearly 3,000 light-years distant, the relatively faint IC 1396 complex covers a large region on the sky, spanning over 5 degrees. This rendition spans a 1 degree wide field of view though, about the angular size of 2 full moons. Of course the dark shapes below and to the right of the outstretched Elephant's Trunk, are known to some as The Caravan.
