Long were the shadows,
beneath the tall trees.
Wind rustling branches,
creating falling leaves.

Dry is the air,
in this July heat wave.
Why do the Gods,
like to misbehave?

Oh, what a time,
when Gods began to play,
with Rainbows, Thunder,
and a lightning display.

Grey are the clouds,
dark Cumulus Nimbus,
we as mere mortals,
will huddle in masses.

Temperatures rise,
coolness of Spring,
where we will have,
until the newness, thing.

Tis Summer,
is what they say.
Why do we still have
wind and clouds today?

Spring eases
into Summer,
with colder weather.
What a bummer.

I stand amongst these tall,
trees, in Norther Idaho.
We are out, scouting for Elk.
I'm riding a Honda Trail 50.

I'm amazed by the
quantity of tall Fern Glades,
stretching across my sight line.
An open cathedral of ferns and trees.

Visibility seems to extend forever.
I don't recall seeing the beautiful sight
in my home state of Washington.
It probably exists on the Peninsula.

A spiritual moment,
I still say
an appropriate view,
on this warm Spring Day.

A memory of 1964, outside Moscow Idaho.

Red was her breast,
as she stood under the tree.
I stayed quiet, as she
looked toward me.

I moved slightly,
now she could see.
She flew quickly
up into the tree.
